Description

Neo-angin Spray with lidocaine and chlorhexidine contains the active ingredients lidocaine and chlorhexidine digluconate.

While chlorhexidine digluconate has a disinfecting effect, lidocaine relieves pain and dysphagia on the mucous membrane of the oral cavity, pharynx and larynx. Neo-angin spray with lidocaine and chlorhexidine is used for the local treatment of acute inflammatory diseases in the mouth and throat, such as aphthae, inflammation of the gums and oral mucosa.

With a prescription, neo-angin spray with lidocaine and chlorhexidine can also be used to help treat tonsillitis (angina), laryngitis, pharyngitis or fungal infections.

What is neo- angin spray with lidocaine and chlorhexidine and when is it used?

Neo-angin spray with lidocaine and chlorhexidine contains the active ingredients lidocaine and chlorhexidine digluconate.

While chlorhexidine digluconate has a disinfecting effect, lidocaine relieves pain and dysphagia on the mucous membrane of the oral cavity, pharynx and larynx. Neo-angin spray with lidocaine and chlorhexidine is used for the local treatment of acute inflammatory diseases in the mouth and throat, such as aphthae, inflammation of the gums and oral mucosa.

When must neo-angin spray with lidocaine and chlorhexidine not be used?

Neo-angin spray with lidocaine and chlorhexidine must not be used if there is a known hypersensitivity to one of the ingredients .

Patients with hypersensitivity to local anesthetics in general should not use neo-angin spray with lidocaine and chlorhexidine.

When is caution required when using neo-angin spray with lidocaine and chlorhexidine?

The spray should not be used on bleeding wounds in the mouth or throat.

If the fever is higher or if there is no improvement within a week, a doctor should be consulted.

Do not swallow any remaining liquid in the mouth, but spit it out after use.

Avoid eye contact.

With regular use, a yellow or brown discoloration of the teeth can occur, which can be removed by intensive tooth cleaning.

Inform your doctor, pharmacist or druggist if you suffer from other illnesses, have allergies or are taking other medicines (even those you bought yourself!) or using them externally!

How do you use neo-angin spray with lidocaine and chlorhexidine?

Adults and adolescents aged 12 and over: Spray 3 to 10 times a day.

Since the drug has an analgesic effect, it is not recommended to use it immediately before eating.

The use and safety in children has not yet been tested.

Stick to the dosage given in the package leaflet or as prescribed by your doctor. If you think the medicine is too weak or too strong, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.

Application of the nebulizer

1. Turn the atomizer on the side of the bottle horizontally (atomization is blocked in the vertical position).

2. Insert the nebulizer into the oral cavity. Hold the bottle upright and press the atomizer head. Spray towards the affected area.

What side effects can neo-angin spray with lidocaine and chlorhexidine have?

Generalized hypersensitive reactions are rare. In this case, the treatment should be stopped and a doctor should be consulted immediately.

Localized irritation has occasionally been observed. With long-term use, temporary disturbances in the sense of taste, a burning sensation in the mouth and a yellowish to brown discoloration of the tongue, teeth and certain fillings and dentures are often observed. The discoloration of the teeth can be removed by intensive tooth cleaning.

What else needs to be considered?

Laundry that has come into contact with neo-angin spray with lidocaine and chlorhexidine must not be washed with detergents that contain hypochlorite , as brown stains may appear: use a peroxide or perborate-based detergent instead.

The medicinal product may only be used up to the date marked «EXP» on the container.

Keep at room temperature (15-25°C) and out of the reach of children.
