Description

What is Carbolevure and when is it used?

Carbolevure contains two natural substances, charcoal and yeast, whose effects complement each other. Charcoal binds pollutants and yeast regulates the intestinal flora.

Carbolevure can be used to combat diarrheal diseases and to regulate and normalize the intestinal flora. On medical prescription or on the recommendation of the pharmacist, this preparation is also used against intestinal disorders in antibiotic therapy.

Carbolevure is available in two different dosages, for adults and for children.

When should Carbolevure not be used?

If you are known to be hypersensitive to one of the ingredients of Carbolevure.

When should you be careful when taking Carbolevure?

In general, if Carbolevure is taken at the same time, Car bolevure and other medicines may affect the absorption of these medicines. This should be considered especially for iron supplements. A time interval of 2 hours must be observed between taking Carbolevure and other medicines.

In the case of diarrhea in children under the age of 3 years, a doctor must be consulted.

If the diarrhea is accompanied by fever, if there is a suspicion of blood in the stool, if the symptoms last longer than 3 days or recur, then a doctor must be consulted.

Elderly people and children in particular must also ensure adequate fluid intake. and electrolyte intake.

Can Carbolevure be taken during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?

How do you use Carbolevure?

Capsules for adults

Adults: take 1 capsule 3 times a day.

Children from 6 years of age: Take 1 capsule 2 times a day.

Children's capsules

Toddlers: take 1 children's capsule 3 times a day.

Infants: take 1 children's capsule once a day.

In case of severe diarrhea, the dose can be doubled.

Correct way of administration

Take the capsules half an hour before meals, unchewed and with some liquid. For infants, the capsule is opened, the contents placed in a spoon and administered in this way. If the capsule is opened, the contents must not be mixed with liquid or food that is too hot.

Observe the dosage given in the package leaflet or prescribed by your doctor. If you think the medicine is too weak or too strong, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.

What side effects can Carbolevure have?

The following side effects can occur when taking Carbolevure:

After taking Carbolevure, a darkening of the stool can be observed. This is caused by the charcoal and is harmless.

High doses of Carbolevure can lead to slight constipation.

There have been reports of hypersensitivity in isolated casesside effects (anaphylactoid reaction) or skin rash (rash, urticaria) in connection with taking Carbolevure.

Keep the medicine out of the reach of children, at room temperature (15 - 25 °C) and protected from light.

What does Carbolevure contain?

1 Carbolevure capsule for adults contains the active ingredients 108.5 mg live yeast and 109 mg activated charcoal.

1 Carbolevure capsule for children contains the active ingredients 47.7 mg live yeast and 48 mg activated charcoal.

Capsules for children and adults contain the following excipients: Polyvidon K 30 , silicic acid (fumed silicon dioxide) and gelatin as well as the dyes iron oxide red and black (E 172), titanium dioxide (E 171) and erythrosine red (E 127).
