Tanno-Hermal Cream is a medical device that has a drying effect and stabilizes the skin barrier, primarily due to the astringent properties of the synthetic tannin it contains. Synthetic tannin forms a protective film over the diseased skin areas. The drying out of inflamed, weeping areas of skin and the associated formation of scabs deprives bacteria and fungi of their breeding ground and prevents the skin infection from spreading further. A side effect of drying out is the noticeable relief of itching and irritation thanks to the protective film on the affected skin areas. Tanno-Hermal cream supports the skin barrier so that it can renew itself without disruption. The beneficial effect of tannins on the skin has been known for decades: bathing with oak bark, compresses with blueberries or black tea. Tannins of different compositions are found in a whole range of barks and leaves. Tanno-Hermal cream contains a synthetic tannin that is long-lasting and does not stain. Use Tanno-Hermal cream to stabilize the skin barrier in the case of inflamed and itchy superficial skin diseases.
