GYNENOV® vaginal cream Biomed AG Medical device What is GYNENOV and when is it used? GYNENOV is used internally in the vagina and relieves acute symptoms of a vaginal infection. The medical device helps prevent recurrent vaginal infections.GYNENOV is a vaginal cream with a barrier effect that helps to restore the physiological pH of the vagina, thus creating optimal conditions for the proliferation of naturally occurring lactobacilli. As a result, the medical device reduces the colonization and proliferation of pathogens such as Candida albicans, Gardnerella and other germs, thereby reducing the risk of recurrent vaginal infections.GYNENOV can be recommended as a symptomatic treatment, as it relieves symptoms such as redness, itching, unpleasant discharge and atrophy. The medical device can also be used as an adjunct to antifungal therapies and to prevent vaginal infections. When should GYNENOV not be used? Do not use GYNENOV if you are hypersensitive or allergic to any of the ingredients. When should you be careful when using GYNENOV? A vaginal infection must be diagnosed by a medical professional. We therefore recommend that you consult your doctor if you have any doubts about the diagnosis or if you have severe symptoms, are under 14 years old or have other diseases or risk factors. A vaginal infection may require pharmacological treatment with an antibiotic or antifungal substance. GYNENOV is neither an antibiotic nor an antifungal drug, as it has no bactericidal, bacteriostatic or antifungal action against the pathogens and therefore cannot replace such treatment recommended by a healthcare professional. If pharmacological treatment is required, GYNENOV can be used concomitantly.If you develop an allergic reaction while using GYNENOV, stop using it immediately and consult a doctor. Insert the contents of the applicator directly into the vagina while lying on your back before going to bed. Lie on your back with your knees drawn up.Insert the applicator gently into the vagina.Squeeze the applicator until it is completely empty.Remove the empty applicator from the vagina.
