What is Mundisal Gel and when is it used? Mundisal is a gel for pain and inflammation associated with injuries in the mouth, for teething problems in babies and small children, and for pressure and sores caused by dentures and orthodontic appliances (e.g. for orthodontics). When Mundisal Gel is applied locally, the active ingredient choline salicylate is quickly absorbed through the oral mucosa and achieved within 5 Minutes its analgesic and anti-inflammatory effect, which lasts about 2-3 hours. Mundisal Gel may only be used in children and adolescents with fever in connection with a viral disease if prescribed by a doctor and only as a second-line drug (see «When should caution be taken when taking Mundisal Gel?»).When should Mundisal Gel not be used?If you are hypersensitive (allergic) to salicylates or another You must not use Mundisal Gel. When should you be careful when using Mundisal Gel? If you have a higher fever or if there is no improvement within a week, you should consult a doctor. Children and adolescents with fever associated with influenza, chickenpox or other viral diseases may only use Mundisal Gel as directed by the doctor and only as a second choice.
