What is Bepanthen Eye Drops and when is it used?

Bepanthen Eye Drops form a sterile, preservative-free, viscoelastic, clear protective film for the cornea. They consist of natural, biological substances. This includes the sodium salt of hyaluronic acid, which due to its special physical properties forms an even, stable and particularly long-lasting protective film on the cornea without impairing visual performance. In addition, Bepanthen Eye Drops contain provitamin B5 (dexpanthenol), which has the ability to refresh and additionally care for the eyes due to its high water-binding capacity. This supports the moisturizing properties of sodium hyaluronate.

The combination of sodium hyaluronate (tear film stabilizing) and dexpanthenol (caring, soothing) protects and moisturizes the surface of the eye and makes it slippery. As a result, it provides long-lasting relief from ailments associated with

– mechanical stress caused, for example, by wearing hard or soft contact lenses or during diagnostic eye surgery;

– environmental stress eg from air conditioning, wind, cold, drought or air pollution;

– strained eyes, for example when working on computer screens and on long car journeys.

Due to the fact that they are free of preservatives, Bepanthen Eye Drops are particularly well tolerated, even with long-term use. Bepanthen Eye Drops are also suitable for contact lens wearers.

When should Bepanthen Eye Drops not be used or only with caution?

Do not use if the single-dose container is damaged or the foil packaging is damaged.

Do not touch the eye with the single-dose container.

Do not use if you are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients. For single use only; Since Bepanthen Eye Drops do not contain any preservatives, residues of the solution must no longer be used.

If you also use other eye drops/eye ointments, an interval of 15 minutes should be observed. Bepanthen Eye Drops should then always be administered last.

Do not use on infected or injured eyes.

When used, visual acuity may be reduced for a short time; Do not drive or operate machines during this time and wait until normal visual acuity has returned.

How do you use Bepanthen Eye Drops?

Disconnect one single-dose container. Make sure each one-dose container is undamaged. To open, twist off (do not pull) the top of the single-dose container. Tilt your head back slightly, pull the lower lid slightly away from the eye and place a drop in the lower conjunctival sac of the eye.

Place one or two drops in each eye several times a day as needed. Slowly close your eyes to allow the liquid to spread evenly over the surface of the eye.

Store at 2°C to 25°C. Protect from frost.

Do not use the eye drops after the expiration date. You will find this stamped on each one-dose container and on the carton.
