Description

Flector Plus Tissugel is a self-adhesive, flexible patch to be placed on the skin, containing the active ingredients diclofenac and heparin. Topically applied heparin helps reduce bruising and swelling. Diclofenac has anti-inflammatory, decongestant and analgesic properties.

What is Flector Plus Tissugel and when is it used?

Flector Plus Tissugel is a self-adhesive, flexible patch to be placed on the skin, containing the active ingredients diclofenac and heparin. Topically applied heparin helps reduce bruising and swelling. Diclofenac has anti-inflammatory, decongestant and analgesic properties.

Flector Plus Tissugel is indicated for the local treatment of painful and inflammatory conditions with bruising or swelling secondary to sprains, strains and contusions.

When not to use Flector Plus Tissugel?

Do not use Flector Plus Tissugel:

  • In the event of hypersensitivity to the active ingredients or to an excipient according to the composition (see «What does Flector Plus Tissugel contain?»);
  • In the event of hypersensitivity to other pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory drugs (e.g. acetylsalicylic acid/ aspirin);
  • during pregnancy and breastfeeding (see also chapter "Can Flector Plus Tissugel be used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?");
  • on open wounds (e.g. skin abrasions , cuts, burns) or on eczematous skin;
  • if you have a known reduction in blood platelets caused by heparin (so-called heparin-induced thrombocytopenia).

In children: Flector Plus Tissugel has not been tested for use in children and adolescents.

When is caution required when using Flector Plus Tissugel?

Flector Plus Tissugel must not come into contact with the eyes and mucous membranes.

If you have or have had a stomach ulcer, use Flector Plus Tissugel only as directed by a doctor.

Tell your doctor, pharmacist or druggist if you

  • have already used similar products (e.g. rheumatism ointments) and these led to allergic reactions,
  • suffer from other illnesses, have allergies or take other medicines (including those you bought yourself!) or use them externally.

Can Flector Plus Tissugel be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

As a precaution, you should use Flector Plus Tissugel during pregnancy and breastfeeding do not use unless specifically directed to do so by a doctor.

Flector Plus Tissugel should not be used in the last trimester of pregnancy.

How do you use Flector Plus Tissugel?

Adults

Once a day, 1 self-adhesive plaster on the skin area to be treated hang up.

Before use, remove the clear film that protects the gelatinous surface.

If the patch does not adhere well, as may be the case on the elbow, knee or ankle, use the elastic mesh stocking included in the pack for additional fixation.

The duration of treatment should not exceed 10 days.

Children

The use and safety of Flector Plus Tissugel in children and adolescents has not been tested.

Stick to the dosage given in the package leaflet or as prescribed by your doctor. If you think the medicine is too weak or too strong, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.

What side effects can Flector Plus Tissugel have?

The following side effects can occur when using Flector Plus Tissugel:

Itching, redness, swelling or blistering may occasionally occur at the treated area. Severe skin rash, allergic reactions such as wheezing, shortness of breath or swelling of the face, or increased sensitivity to sunlight have been observed very rarely.

If any of the following side effects occur, stop using Flector Plus Tissugel and tell your doctor immediately:

  • severe skin rash,
  • wheezing, shortness of breath, or
  • facial swelling.

If you experience any side effects, click here are not described, you should inform your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.

What else needs to be considered?

The medicine should be stored at room temperature (15-25 °C) and out of the reach of children.

The medicinal product may only be used up to the date marked «EXP» on the container.

Once the envelope is first opened, the patches should be used within 3 months.

After cutting, the packaging can be resealed at any time so that the patches retain their moisture.

What does Flector Plus Tissugel contain?

Active ingredients: Diclofenac Epolamine 181 mg per patch (equivalent to a concentration of 1.3% Diclofenac epolamine, or 1% diclofenac sodium salt) and heparin sodium 5600 IU per patch.

Excipients: propylene glycol, preservative: propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E 216), methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E 218), flavorings and other excipients.
