Transipeg® / Transipeg Forte® is an intestinal regulator consisting of macrogol and salts, which ensures stool regulation in the event of constipation. Macrogol is an indigestible substance that binds water. This stimulates intestinal activity without irritating the intestines, making the stool softer and more slippery. This makes bowel movements easier. The amount of salts roughly corresponds to that contained in the blood (iso-osmotic). After dissolving Transipeg® / Transipeg Forte®, an iso-osmotic drinking solution results. This balance prevents water and salt loss. What is Transipeg / Transipeg Forte and when is it used?

What should be considered?
If you suffer from constipation, you should eat fiber-rich food (vegetables, fruit, wholemeal bread) and drink plenty of fluids regularly physical activity (sport).
Transipeg® / Transipeg Forte® contains small amounts of carbohydrates (41.0 mg and 82.0 mg respectively) and has a low energy value of 0.8 kJ (0.2 kcal) or 1.6 kJ (0.4 kcal), but the drug is suitable for diabetics.
When should Transipeg / Transipeg Forte not be taken?
Transipeg® / Transipeg Forte® may be used in inflammatory Intestinal diseases, intestinal blockages, constrictions in the esophagus, stomach or intestines, acute expansion of the large intestine and existing or imminent stomach or intestinal perforation should not be used. If you are hypersensitive to one of the ingredients, Transipeg® / Transipeg Forte® must not be taken. If you have abdominal pain of unknown origin, you should only take Transipeg® / Transipeg Forte® with the consent of your doctor. Patients with the metabolic disorder phenylketonuria must not take the preparation.
When should you be careful when taking Transipeg / Transipeg Forte?
Patients taking Transipeg® / Transipeg Forte ® for the first time should consult a doctor if there is no improvement after 2 weeks.
Transipeg® / Transipeg Forte® may affect the absorption of certain concomitant medicines such as digoxin.
If you experience sudden abdominal pain or rectal bleeding while taking Transipeg/Transipeg Forte for bowel preparation, contact your doctor or seek medical attention immediately.
Transipeg and Transipeg Forte contain 3.75 and 7.5 mg aspartame per sachet. Aspartame is a source of phenylalanine. It can be harmful if you have phenylketonuria (PKU), a rare inherited disorder in which phenylalanine builds up because the body can't break it down enough.
Please only take Transipeg® / Transipeg Forte® after consulting your doctor if you know that you suffer from an intolerance to sugar.
Transipeg and Transipeg Forte contain 143.7 mg and 287.4 mg sodium (main component of cooking/table salt) per sachet. This corresponds to 7.2% and 14.4%, respectively, of the recommended maximum daily dietary intake of sodium for an adult.

If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding, ask before taking Transipeg ® / Transipeg Forte® Ask your doctor, pharmacist or druggist for advice.
How do you use Transipeg / Transipeg Forte?
The daily doses of Transipeg® and Transipeg Forte® are up once, preferably in the morning. The contents of a Transipeg® sachet must be dissolved in at least 50 ml of water before ingestion. The content of a sachet of Transipeg® Forte must be dissolved in at least 100 ml of water before ingestion. Stir well! It is necessary to ensure that the powder is completely dissolved before drinking. The solution should not be drunk if lumps are present. The solution should be taken shortly after preparation. The effect occurs after 24 to 72 hours.
The duration of self-treatment should be kept as short as possible and should not exceed 14 days. Long-term treatments should only be carried out on the advice of a doctor.
Adults and children over 12 years
Depending on the severity of the constipation, take 1 to 4 sachets of Transipeg® or 1 to 2 sachets of Transipeg Forte® daily. The average dosage is 2 sachets of Transipeg® or 1 sachet of Transipeg Forte® daily.
Children from 6 to 11 years (only Transipeg®, not Transipeg Forte®)
The starting dose is 2 sachets of Transipeg® per day. The dose can be increased to 3 sachets of Transipeg® daily. 3 sachets of Transipeg® per day may only be used for short periods, i. a maximum of 2 weeks.
Children from 2 to 6 years (only Transipeg®, not Transipeg Forte®)
The starting dose is 1 sachet of Transipeg® per day. If the result is unsatisfactory, the dose can be increased to a maximum of 3 sachets of Transipeg® per day after consultation with the doctor.
Children under 2 years old
In children under 2 years of age, the preparation may only be administered on the doctor's prescription. The starting dose is 1 sachet of Transipeg®.
Follow the dosage given in the package leaflet or as prescribed by your doctor. If you think the medicine is too weak or too strong, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.
What side effects can Transipeg / Transipeg Forte have?
Too high a dosage of Transipeg® / Transipeg Forte® can very commonly cause diarrhea and frequently cause nausea and vomiting. These side effects subside after 24 to 48 hours. The therapy can then be continued at a reduced dose.
Common (affects 1 to 10 users in 100)
Patients, particularly those with a hypersensitive colon, have often reported abdominal pain, bloating and gas.
Rare (affects 1 to 10 users in 10,000)
Rarely, hypersensitivity reactions such as rash, itching or swelling have been reported. The respiratory tract, the digestive tract or the cardiovascular system can also be affected.
Very rare (affects less than 1 in 10,000 users)
Allergic reactions and allergic shock have been reported very rarely.
If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist. This also applies in particular to side effects that are not listed in this leaflet.

Active ingredients
