What is Crataegisan and when is it used?

Crataegisan is a fresh plant preparation made from hawthorn fruits. It is used for nervous heart problems. Crataegisan has a calming effect on symptoms such as: feeling of pressure and tightness in the heart area, stinging pain in the heart area, rapid pulse.

What should be considered?

If an irregular pulse with severe palpitations, stabbing pains in the heart area and shortness of breath occur frequently or last longer, a doctor's consultation is indicated. This, this will determine whether the heart or the vessels are organically diseased or whether the symptoms are caused by nervousness.

When should Crataegisan not be taken or only with caution?

To date, no application restrictions are known. When used as intended, no special precautionary measures are necessary. The preparation must not be used in children and adolescents under 18 years of age. Tell your doctor, pharmacist or druggist if you suffer from other illnesses, have allergies or are taking medicines (including those you bought yourself!) or using them externally.

Can Crataegisan be taken during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?

Based on previous experience, there is no known risk for the child when used as directed. However, systematic scientific investigations have never been carried out. As a precaution, you should avoid taking medicines during pregnancy and breastfeeding or ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice.

How do you use Crataegisan?

Adults: Take 30 drops 3 times a day in a little water about half an hour before meals. Follow the dosage given in the package leaflet or as prescribed by your doctor. If you think the medicine is too weak or too strong, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist. The use and safety of Crataegisan in children and adolescents has not yet been tested. Crataegisan should therefore not be used in children and adolescents under the age of 18.

What side effects can Crataegisan have?

Crataegisan has so far not had any side effects when used as intended been observed. However, if you observe any side effects, tell your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.

What else should you watch out for?

Crataegisan contains a production-related alcohol content of 46-54% by volume. Crataegisan should be stored at room temperature (15-25°C) and out of the reach of children. Crataegisan may only be used up to the date marked «EXP» on the container. Fresh plant tinctures can occasionally become cloudy, but this does not affect the effect. Unused packs should be returned to your pharmacist or druggist for disposal. Your doctor, pharmacist or druggist can provide you with further information.
