What is Vita-Hexin and when is it used?

What should be considered?

Large, heavily soiled and deep wounds, as well as bite and puncture wounds require medical treatment (danger of tetanus). If the extent of a wound remains unchanged for some time or if the wound does not heal within 10-14 days, a doctor's visit is also necessary. The same applies if the edges of the wound are very red, the wound suddenly swells, is very painful or the injury is accompanied by fever (danger of blood poisoning).

When should Vita-Hexin not be used?

If you are hypersensitive to a component of the wound ointment, Vita-Hexin should no longer be used.

If your eardrum is damaged, do not use Vita-Hexin in your ear.

When is caution required when using Vita-Hexin?

Vita-Hexin is intended for external use only.

In children under the age of 2 years, the preparation may only be used if prescribed by a doctor.

Vita-Hexin ointment burns the eyes and mucous membranes, it should therefore be used with caution in their vicinity.

Vita-Hexin should not be used too frequently or for a long period of time without medical advice (see also “What should be considered?”). If you experience skin irritation or unusual sensitivity, you should stop using Vita-Hexin Ointment.

Inform your doctor, pharmacist or druggist if you suffer from other illnesses, have allergies or are taking other medicines (even those you bought yourself!) or using them externally!

Can Vita-Hexin be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

Based on previous experience, there is no known risk for the child when used as intended. Do not use on larger areas. However, systematic scientific investigations have never been carried out. As a precaution, you should avoid taking medicines during pregnancy and breastfeeding or ask your doctor, pharmacist or druggist for advice.

Adults and children from the age of 2

Apply the ointment in a thin layer directly or with the help of a sterile swab apply to the cleaned wound and/or inflamed area of skin. You can now cover the wound with a plaster or gauze, or leave it open. Repeat the application two or three times a day. If you use more Vita-Hexin than you should, if you accidentally take Vita-Hexin, contact your doctor.
