Description

Sensicutan cream contains the two active ingredients levomenol and heparin sodium. Sensicutan has an anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic and antipruritic effect.

Sensicutan is used in children from the age of 3 years, adolescents and adults to treat inflammatory, non-infectious, severely itchy and allergic skin diseases such as:

  • Acute and chronic skin rashes (eczema)
  • Dermatitis, e.g. neurodermatitis (atopic dermatitis)

What is Sensicutan and when is it used?

Sensicutan Cream contains the two active ingredients levomenol and heparin sodium. Sensicutan has an anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic and antipruritic effect.

Sensicutan is used in children from the age of 3 years, adolescents and adults to treat inflammatory, non-infectious, severely itchy and allergic skin diseases such as:

  • Acute and chronic skin rashes (eczema)
  • Dermatitis, e.g. neurodermatitis (atopic dermatitis)

Sensicutan is suitable for use on dry, normal and oily skin Skin.

When not to use Sensicutan?

Sensicutan should not be used if you are hypersensitive to levomenol, heparin, sorbic acid, salicylic acid or any of the other ingredients.

Heparin preparations should not be used if there is a tendency to bleed or if there is a reduced number of platelets.

When is caution required when using Sensicutan?

Pregnant women and children should avoid long-term use over large areas.

Do not use on children under 3 years of age.

Sensicutan may only be applied to undamaged skin. Do not apply Sensicutan to open wounds or mucous membranes.

If an allergic reaction occurs, the use of Sensicutan should be discontinued immediately.

If you are using another form of heparin, discuss this with your doctor before using Sensicutan.

Sensicutan contains sorbic acid, cetyl and stearyl alcohol, which can cause localized skin reactions (e.g. contact dermatitis).

Tell your doctor, pharmacist or druggist if you

  • suffer from other diseases
  • have allergies or
  • take other medicines (including those you bought yourself!) or use them externally!

Can Sensicutan be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

There are no adequate studies on the use of Sensicutan during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

As a precaution, you should avoid taking medicines during pregnancy and breastfeeding or ask your doctor, pharmacist or druggist for advice.

How do you use Sensicutan?

Adults and children over 3 years:

Apply twice a day to the affected areas of skin.

The duration of use should not exceed 8 weeks.

Do not use on large areas of skin in children for a long period of time.

If you do not feel better or if you feel worse after 1 to 2 weeks, you should contact your doctor.

The use and safety of Sensicutan in children under 3 years of age has not been tested.

Follow the dosage given in the package leaflet or as prescribed by your doctor. If you think the medicine is too weak or too strong, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.

What side effects can Sensicutan have?

In very rare cases, skin intolerance or allergic reactions (skin rash, reddening of the skin, itching or burning of the skin) can occur. In general, these skin symptoms resolve after weaning. If an allergic reaction occurs, a doctor should be consulted.

If you notice side effects that are not described here, you should inform your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.

What else needs to be considered?

Always keep the tube tightly closed, at room temperature (15-25 °C) and out of the reach of children.

The medicinal product may only be used up to the date marked “Use by” on the container.

Shelf life after first opening: 6 months.

For the first opening, press the spike through the protective membrane of the tube.

What does Sensicutan contain?

1 g cream contains active medicinal ingredients: levomenol (= (-)-α-bisabolol) 3 mg, heparin sodium 200 I.E.

Excipients

Mixture of cetyl and stearyl alcohol, macrogol cetyl alcohol ether, almond oil, medium-chain triglycerides, myristyl alcohol, citric acid, collagen hydrolyzate, α-tocopherol acetate, dexpanthenol, sorbic acid ( E 200), salicylic acid, purified water.
