What is Trawell and when is it used?

When should Trawell not be taken/used?

Do not use with:

• Known hypersensitivity to one of the ingredients.
• Narrow-angle glaucoma (glaucoma).
• Enlarged prostate with residual urine.
• Porphyria (metabolic disorder with pigment accumulation ( porphyrins) in the organism).
• Epilepsy.
• Pheochromocytoma (tumour of the adrenal medulla).

When is at should be taken with care when taking / using Trawell?

In high doses, Trawell may cause drowsiness and impair reactions, the ability to drive and the ability to use any tools or machines.

If you have impaired liver function, cardiac arrhythmia, chronic breathing problems and asthma or a narrowing of the stomach outlet (pyloric stenosis), you should discuss the use of Trawell medicated chewing gum with your doctor.

Trawell increases the effects of alcohol, tranquilizers, antidepressants and MAOIs. You should therefore refrain from taking alcohol or tranquilizers at the same time.

Trawell may mask the side effects of certain antibiotics. So tell your doctor or nurse if you're taking Trawell while you're on antibiotics.

1 Trawell medicated chewing gum contains 405.75 mg sucrose, 285 mg sorbitol, 1.7 mg glucose, 3 mg aspartame and 0.936 mg lactose. Please consult your doctor before taking Trawell medicated chewing gum if you know you have an intolerance to sugars. Sorbitol is a source of fructose. Talk to your doctor before you (or your child) take or receive this medicine, if your doctor has told you that you (or your child) have an intolerance to some sugars, or if you have hereditary fructose intolerance (HFI) – a rare congenital condition in which a person is unable to break down fructose – has been identified. Aspartame is a source of phenylalanine. It can be harmful if you have phenylketonuria (PKU), a rare inherited disorder in which phenylalanine builds up because the body can't break it down enough.

Trawell medicated chewing gum may cause localized irritation of mucous membranes.

1 medicated gum contains less than 1 mmol (23 mg) sodium, i.e. essentially "sodium free". it is almost «sodium-free».

Can Trawell be taken/used while pregnant or breastfeeding?

If you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, you should avoid using Trawell as a precaution. Women who are breastfeeding should not use Trawell.

How do you use Trawell?

If symptoms such as discomfort and nausea occur, chew 1 piece of Trawell medicated gum. For maximum effect, Trawell medicated gum should be chewed for 3-10 minutes. Particularly sensitive individuals should chew Trawell medicated gum prior to any journey that may cause them nausea (winding roads, turbulence on air travel, bad weather front on sea voyages, etc.).

Trawell medicated chewing gum should never be swallowed. Swallowing would only increase the onset of signs of nausea.

Adults and adolescents over 12 years

At the first sign of nausea, chew 1 Trawell medicated gum 20 mg. The effect lasts 1-3 hours depending on the person. If the effect wears off, chew more Trawell medicated gum (up to a maximum of 6 medicated gums per day).

Children

From 8-12 years: At the first sign of nausea, chew 1 Trawell medicated chewing gum 20 mg. The effect lasts 1-3 hours depending on the person. If the effect wears off, chew another Trawell 20 mg medicated gum (up to a maximum of 3 20 mg medicated gums per day).

Children under 8 years of age should not be given Trawell medicated chewing gum unless prescribed by a doctor. Trawell medicated chewing gum is not suitable for children under 4 years of age.

Follow the dosage given in this leaflet or as prescribed by your doctor. If you think the medicine is too weak or too strong, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.

What side effects can Trawell have?

Very common (affects more than 1 in 10 people)

It can Drowsiness, drowsiness, dizziness and muscle weakness occur, especially at the beginning of the treatment, which may still be felt the following day. It has been shown that these side effects in the area of ​​the central nervous system were significantly less pronounced after taking 3 Trawell 20 mg medicated chewing gums half an hour apart than after taking 1 tablet of 50 mg dimenhydrinate (the active ingredient in Trawell medicated chewing gum). It should be noted that after the first use of Trawell medicated gum, chew another one only if necessary (see «How do you use Trawell medicated gum?»)

Common (affects 1 to 10 users in 100)

Visual disturbances, increase in eye pressure, increased heart rate.

Rare (affects 1 to 10 in 10,000 people treated)

Dry mouth, feeling of stuffy nose, gastrointestinal complaints (e.g. nausea, pain in the stomach area , vomiting, constipation, diarrhea).

Very rare (affects less than 1 in 10,000 people treated)

Allergic reactions and skin sensitivity to light, difficulty urinating, blood cell damage, mood swings, liver dysfunction.
