With a concentration of 0.5% sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) and 0.9% glycerol, Optive offers long-lasting relief from symptoms.
Optive is preserved with Purite, Allergan's patented preservative technology. Upon contact with light, Purite transforms into components of the natural tear film (NaCl, H20 and O2). Optive eye drops are therefore preserved in the bottle and unpreserved on the eye.
The eye drops have a shelf life of six months after opening, which is particularly advantageous for patients who only occasionally suffer from dry eyes.
