Supradyn Vital 50+ contains the most important vitamins, essential minerals and trace elements as well as ginseng in balanced amounts for adults over the age of 50. Vitamins and minerals are essential substances that are supplied to the organism with food.
They are essential components for the metabolism and for the regeneration of the body (e.g. for bones, blood, heart). Trace elements are vital substances that the organism needs in very small amounts. Daily food does not always contain sufficient amounts of these substances.
Supradyn Vital 50+ is used in cases of reduced physical and mental performance, e.g. in old age, in the event of difficulty concentrating, tiredness, states of exhaustion and increased physical and mental stress.
For diabetics: 1 effervescent tablet contains 0.8 g, 1 film-coated tablet contains 0.2 g usable carbohydrates. Both the film and effervescent tablets are still suitable for diabetics.
You must not take Supradyn Vital 50+ if you already have an oversupply of vitamin A and/or D (so-called hypervitaminosis), or if you are taking other preparations containing vitamin A and/or D at the same time, if you are being treated with retinoids (e.g. for acne). Likewise, you must not take Supradyn Vital 50+ if you are allergic to the active ingredients or one of the excipients according to the composition, if you have an excessive calcium content in the blood (hypercalcaemia) or urine (hypercalciuria) and if you have impaired kidney function or an iron and/or copper metabolic disease.
If you suffer from lactose intolerance, you must not take the film-coated tablets (they contain lactose).
Supradyn Vital 50+, effervescent tablets contain soybean oil. They must not be taken if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to peanuts or soy.
Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, you should not exceed the recommended daily amount of 1 effervescent or film-coated tablet. Ingesting very high doses of some ingredients, particularly vitamin A, vitamin D, iron and copper, can be harmful. If you are taking other multivitamin or individual vitamin preparations at the same time, you should consult your doctor or pharmacist before use.
Please also consult your doctor or pharmacist before use if you are being treated by a doctor or are taking other medications, especially those for anticoagulants. An interaction of ginseng with drugs that inhibit blood clotting (so-called anticoagulants, especially coumarins) cannot be ruled out.
Note for diabetics: Ginseng can lower the blood glucose level.
Patients with a known sensitivity to the formation of urinary or kidney stones should consult their doctor before use.
If you are taking Parkinson's medication ments with levodopa, you should consult your doctor before use. If simultaneous use is necessary, the individual preparations should be taken 2 hours apart.
This medicine contains 220.6 mg lactose per film-coated tablet, 168 mg maltitol per effervescent tablet, and 4.5 mg or 9.14-10.85 mg sucrose per film-coated or effervescent tablet. Please only take Supradyn Vital 50+ after consulting your doctor if you know that you suffer from a sugar intolerance. This medicine contains 346 mg sorbitol and 40mg aspartame per effervescent tablet.
Aspartame is a source of phenylalanine. It can be harmful if you have phenylketonuria (PKU), a rare, hereditary condition in which phenylalanine builds up because the body cannot break it down enough.
If you are taking medicines for heartburn (e.g. antacids), antibiotics (e.g. tetracyclines, fluoroquinolones), thyroid medicines (e.g. levothyroxine), medicines containing penicillamine, medicines to treat viral infections If you are taking heart failure medication (e.g. digoxin), blood pressure and diuretic medication (e.g. thiazides), osteoporosis medication (e.g. bisphosphonate), or eat foods with oxalic acid (e.g. in spinach and rhubarb) or phytic acid (e.g. in whole grain products containing fiber), you should keep a gap of 2 hours between taking Supradyn Vital 50+.
If you have to follow a low-salt diet: Supradyn Vital 50+ contains 0.94 mg sodium per film-coated tablet, i.e. they are almost sodium-free, or 232 mg sodium per effervescent tablet, corresponding to 11.6% of the WHO recommended daily amount of 2 g for an adult. For patients who are on a low-salt diet, it is therefore advisable to use the film-coated tablet instead of the effervescent tablet.
