What are Sinupret Dragées/Sinupret forte Dragées and when are they used?
Sinupret/Sinupret forte Dragées contain gentian root, cowslip blossoms, common dock herb, elderflower and verbena.
Sinupret/Sinupret forte has an expectorant effect d (secretolytic) and anti-inflammatory (antiphlogistic). As a result, Sinupret/Sinupret forte loosens tough mucus, reduces nasal congestion and allows blocked secretions to drain more easily.
Sinupret/Sinupret forte coated tablets are used for acute and chronic inflammation of the paranasal sinuses and airways, if necessary as an additional therapy to other therapies.
What should be considered?
Should the symptoms last longer than 7 days or with fever (above 38°C), a doctor should be consulted.
Note for diabetics:
Sinupret contains an average of 0.1 g usable carbohydrates per tablet.
Sinupret forte contains an average of 0.3 g usable carbohydrates per tablet.
When may Sinupret Dragées/Sinupret forte Dragées should not be used or only with caution?
Do not use if there is a known hypersensitivity to one of the ingredients.
Sinupret Dragées: Do not use in children under the age of 6 years without the advice of a doctor.
Sinupret forte Dragées: Do not use in children under the age of 12 years without the advice of a doctor.
Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you
- suffer from other diseases
- have allergies or
- take other medicines (including those you bought yourself!).
Can Sinupret Dragées/Sinupret forte Dragées be taken during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?
Based on previous experience, if used as directed no known risk for the child. However, systematic scientific investigations have never been carried out. As a precaution, you should avoid taking medicines during pregnancy and breastfeeding or ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice.
How do you use Sinupret Dragées/Sinupret forte Dragées?
Sinupret Dragées
Adults and children from 12 years of age: 2 dragées 3 times a day
Children from 6 years of age: 1 dragée 3 times a day
The use and safety of Sinupret Dragées in children under 6 years of age has not yet been tested.
Sinupret forte Dragées
Adults and children over 12 years of age: 1 tablet 3 times a day.
The use and safety of Sinupret forte tablets in children under the age of 12 have not yet been tested.
Sinupret/Sinupret forte tablets are swallowed whole, with some liquid if necessary.
Observe the instructions given in the package leaflet or from the doctor or nurse Doctor prescribed dosage. If you think the medicine is too weak or too strong, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
What side effects can Sinupret Dragées/Sinupret forte Dragées have?
The following side effects can occur when taking Sinupret/Sinupret forte Dragées: In rare cases, stomach intolerances have been reported. Hypersensitivity reactions (reddening of the skin, rashes with blisters, shortness of breath) have been described in individual cases. In the latter cases, you should refrain from further intake and consult a doctor immediately.
If you notice any side effects that are not described here, you should inform your doctor or pharmacist.
What else needs to be considered?
The medicine should be stored at room temperature (15-25°C) and out of the reach of children. The medicinal product may only be used up to the date marked “EXP” on the folding boxn date can be used. Your doctor or pharmacist can provide you with further information.
What does Sinupret Dragées/Sinupret forte Dragées contain?
1 Sinupret Dragée contains powdered drugs of gentian root 6 mg; cowslip blossoms 18 mg; Curly dock herb 18 mg; elderflower 18 mg; Verbena 18 mg.
1 Sinupret forte Dragée contains powdered drugs of gentian root 12 mg; cowslip blossoms 36 mg; Curly dock herb 36 mg; elderflower 36 mg; Vervain 36 mg.
Sinupret/Sinupret forte dragées also contain auxiliary substances, including colourings: indigo carmine (E 132) and copper chlorophyllin (E 141ii).
