What is neo-angin and when is it used?
neo-angin throat lozenges contain an active ingredient combination of cetylpyridine and lidocaine.
While cetylpyridine is responsible for the germicidal effect of the throat lozenge, lidocaine relieves pain in the mucous membranes of the oral cavity, pharynx and larynx.
neo-ang in is used to help with inflammation in the area of the mouth and/or pharynx and larynx, as well as for the symptomatic treatment of pain when swallowing and hoarseness.
Neo-angin can also be taken after dental or surgical interventions if prescribed by a doctor.
When should neo-angin not be used?
In patients with a known hypersensitivity to one of the ingredients or to other local anesthetics (Lokalan esthetics).
In patients who are hypersensitive to azo dyes, acetylsalicylic acid and rheumatism and painkillers (prostaglandin inhibitors).
When is caution required when taking neo-angin?
In the case of bleeding wounds in the mucous membrane, the throat lozenge should be taken with caution - if at all - as the absorption of the active ingredients into the blood may be increased. This applies in particular to patients with cardiovascular disorders or a tendency to cramps.
In the case of impaired liver and/or kidney function, since these restrictions can lead to increased drug concentrations in the blood.
neo-angin forte is not recommended for children under the age of 12.
neo-angin and neo-angin Junior are not recommended for children under the age of 6.
If the fever is higher or there is no improvement within 3 days, consult a doctor or consult a doctor.
Inform your doctor, pharmacist or druggist if you suffer from other illnesses, have allergies or are taking or using other medicines (including those you bought yourself!) or using them externally!
Can neo-angin be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
Based on previous experience, there is no known risk for the child if used as directed. However, systematic scientific investigations have never been carried out. As a precaution, you should avoid taking medicines during pregnancy and breastfeeding or ask your doctor, pharmacist or pharmacist for advice.
