Description
What is Triofan cold without preservatives and when is it used?
Triofan cold without preservatives is a medicine for topical use against colds that causes the nasal mucosa to decongest and reduces and liquefies mucous nasal discharge. This makes it possible to breathe through your nose again. Triofan cold without preservatives is used to reduce swelling of the nasal mucosa to make breathing easier when you have a cold.
On the advice of a doctor, pharmacist or druggist, Triofan cold without preservatives can also be used to treat inflammation of the nasal mucosa and paranasal sinuses as well as inflammation of the nasal passages caused by surgery. Triofan cold without preservatives for small children and infants may only be used on babies after specialist advice from a doctor, pharmacist or druggist.

When should Triofan cold without preservatives not be used?
If you have had an operation in the area of the skull, your doctor or your The doctor will decide whether you can use Triofan cold without preservatives. This restriction also applies to all other vasoconstrictive preparations that are used in the nose.

- hypersensitivity to the ingredients,
- dry nasal mucosa (rhinitis sicca),
- narrow-angle glaucoma.
The spray for adults must not be used in children under 6 years of age .
When is caution required when using Triofan cold without preservatives?
Triofan cold without preservatives may not be used for longer than 5-7 days without medical clarification. Long-term use can cause swelling of the nasal mucosa caused by medication, the symptoms of which are very similar to a cold.
In patients with hypertension, cardiovascular diseases, hyperthyroidism and diabetes mellitus, Triofan cold without preservatives should only be used with caution.
As with other cold remedies, temporary general side effects (such as e.g. sleep disorders and visual disturbances and dizziness) as a sign of increased sensitivity to one of the active ingredients.
Inform your doctor, pharmacist or druggist if you suffer from heart disease (e.g. long QT syndrome). Patients suffering from long QT syndrome may experience severe cardiac arrhythmias when using preservative-free Triofan.
Inform your doctor, pharmacist or druggist if you suffer from other illnesses, have allergies or are taking or using other medicines (including those you have bought yourself!) or use them externally.
Can Triofan cold without preservatives during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?
Triofan cold without preservatives should only be used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding after consultation with the doctor.
How do you use Triofan cold without preservatives?
Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor:
Adults and children from 6 years of age: 3 to 4 times a day in each nose 1 spray of the nasal spray for adults and children.
Children up to 6 years: 2 to 3 times a day in each nostril, 1 spray of the nasal spray for toddlers and S&infants.
Infants: 1 spray of the nasal spray for infants and infants in each nostril, 1 to 2 times a day.
Instructions for use of the spray

Remove the protective cap. Before the first use, press the spray several times to activate the pump. The bottle is then ready for the following applications (a). Hold the bottle upright during use (b).
Insert the spray tip into the nostril and squeeze once firmly. Before releasing the pressure, pull back the spray.
Breath in gently through the nose during application to ensure good distribution of the spray mist.
Dosing spray for small children and infants: Application when the child is sitting upright (avoid use when the child is lying down).
Put the protective cap back on after each use. Follow the dosage given in the package leaflet or prescribed by your doctor. Please consult your doctor if you really have used too much. If you think the medicine is too weak or too strong, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.
What side effects can Triofan cold without preservatives have?
The following side effects can occur when using Triofan cold without preservatives: Itching or a temporary feeling of burning in the nose or throat, as well as local irritation and dryness Nasal mucosa, occasional nausea, headache, nosebleeds or allergic reactions (skin rashes, rare anaphylactic reactions).

What does Triofan Schnupfen without preservatives contain?
1 ml solution contains:
Active ingredients
Xylometazoline hydrochloride (adults 1.0 mg; small children 0.5 mg) and carbocysteine (adults 10.0 mg; small children 5.0 mg).
1 spray mist for adults and older children contains 90 µg xylometazoline hydrochloride and 900 µg carbocysteine.
1 spray mist for small children and infants contains 25 µg xylometazoline hydrochloride and 250 µg carbocysteine.
Excipients
