What is ZinCream Medinova and when is it used?

ZinCream Medinova is a soft cream paste containing zinc oxide, which is easy to spread on the skin. Zinc oxide promotes wound healing and has a slightly disinfecting effect.

ZinCream Medinova is odourless, easy to wash off with water and adheres well to weeping skin. Thanks to its good water absorption capacity, it has a drying effect and is particularly suitable for moist and weeping skin diseases, e.g. soreness and weeping eczema.

ZinCream Medinova is used in the following cases:

Diaper dermatitis and intertrigo (skin chafing)

ZinCream Medinova is used for Healing of diaper dermatitis (redness and soreness on the buttocks) and intertrigo (redness and weeping sores in skin folds, also called skin wolf). Furthermore, ZinCream Medinova can also be used as a supportive agent or as a follow-up treatment if these skin diseases are aggravated by fungal and/or bacterial infections and must be treated primarily with a drug specifically active against these pathogens.

Minor skin damage

ZinCream Medinova is used to treat minor skin damage such as open and cracked skin, scratches, abrasions and cuts.

Wound edges

On the doctor's instructions, ZinCream Medinova can also be used to support the treatment of the wound edges of open wounds (e.g. leg ulcers or leg ulcers and bed sores), to prevent spreading of the wound and possible infection.

What should be considered?

Red skin and sores on the buttocks of babies in diapers are usually the result of moisture in the nappies and contact with urine and faeces. The treatment can be supported with the following measures:

  • Keep your buttocks as dry as possible. It can also be beneficial not to put diapers on the child for a few hours a day.
  • Use breathable diapers.
  • Rinse cloth diapers very well to remove any detergent residue.
