Oscillococcinum® Globules
Homeopathic medicinal product
When is Oscillococcinum used?
According to homeopathic medicinal products, Oscillococcinum can be used to prevent influenza, at the onset of influenza and when influenza has broken out.
What should be considered?
If your doctor has prescribed other medicines for you, ask your doctor or pharmacist whether Oscillococcinum can be taken at the same time.
If you have a high fever or if your general condition worsens, you should see a doctor as soon as possible, especially in children. A doctor should always be consulted if a high fever suddenly occurs or if the fever rises in children under the age of 2 years. A doctor should be consulted to prevent influenza infections, especially if:
- People over 60 years
- Adults and children who are at increased risk of complications during influenza illness, such as those suffering from chronic heart disease, chronic lung disease (chronic bronchitis, asthma, cystic fibrosis, etc.) ), chronic kidney diseases or metabolic diseases (e.g. diabetes)
- People with immunodeficiency
- People who are occupationally exposed to an increased risk of infection (e.g. people in medical professions). ul>
When should Oscillococcinum not be taken or only with caution?
To date, no application restrictions are known. When used as intended, no special precautionary measures are necessary.
Tell your doctor, pharmacist or druggist if you
- suffer from other illnesses
- have allergies or
- take other medicines (including those you bought yourself!) or use them externally!
Can Oscillococcinum be taken during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
Based on previous experience, there is no known risk for the child when used as directed. However, systematic scientific investigations have never been carried out. As a precaution, you should avoid taking medicines during pregnancy and breastfeeding or ask your doctor, pharmacist or druggist for advice.
How do you use Oscillococcinum?
Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor:
For prevention: take 1 globule dose per week during the flu season.
When the flu starts: Take 1 globule dose as soon as possible when the first symptoms appear, possibly repeating 2-3 times at 6-hour intervals.
If the flu has broken out: take 1 globule dose in the morning and evening for 1 to 3 days.
Allow the entire dose of globuli to dissolve under the tongue a quarter of an hour before or an hour after eating. Follow the dosage given in the package leaflet or prescribed by your doctor. If the desired improvement does not occur during the treatment of a small child/child, a doctor should be consulted with him or her. If you think the medicine is too weak or too strong, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.
What side effects can Oscillococcinum have?
When taking homeopathic medicines, the symptoms can temporarily worsen (initial aggravation). If the deterioration persists, discontinue Oscillococcinum and tell your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.
No side effects have been observed for Oscillococcinum when used as directed. If you nevertheless observe side effects, inform your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.
