What should be considered?Large, heavily contaminated or deep wounds, such as bite and puncture wounds, require medical treatment (danger of tetanus). If the wound size does not decrease within a certain time or if the wound has not healed after 10-14 days, you should also consult the doctor. You should do the same if the edges of the wound are very red, if the wound suddenly swells and becomes very painful, or if you have a fever (risk of blood poisoning). When not to use ialugen?You should not use ialugen cream and gauze if you are allergic to one or more of the ingredients (see «What is in ialugen contain?») are allergic. The same limitation applies to severe, deep and heavily contaminated wounds. Such injuries must be cleaned under medical supervision. When should you be careful when using ialugen?In very rare cases, sodium hyaluronate or any additives contained in ialugen, especially if used for a long time, can allergic symptoms (e.g. itching) (see «What side effects can ialugen have?»). In such cases, it is recommended to interrupt therapy and inform your doctor. Tell your doctor, pharmacist or druggist if you suffer from other diseases,have allergies ortake other medicines (including those you bought yourself!) or use them externally.Can ilugen be used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?Based on previous experience, there is no known risk for the child if used as directed. However, systematic scientific investigations have not been carried out. As a precaution, you should avoid taking medicines during pregnancy and breastfeeding or ask your doctor, pharmacist or druggist for advice. How do you use ialugen?Before applying ialugen cream and gauze, the wounds and their surroundings must be cleaned and disinfected. In particular, it is recommended to remove the cream residues from a previous application. Cream: Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the ialugen cream is applied 2-3 times a day in a thin layer evenly over the entire injury until the scar has formed. The cream is easy to wash off with water. Medicated gauze: Depending on the wound surface, apply one or more gauzes 2 or more times a day. The ialugen gauze must be removed with sterile forceps and placed on the previously cleaned and disinfected wound; then cover the wound with a sterile gauze and then with cotton wool and fix the whole thing with a suitable bandage. The individual packs are intended for single use. The use and safety of ialugen in children and adolescents has not yet been tested. Based on previous experience, there is no known risk for the child when used as intended. Stick to the dosage given in the package leaflet or as prescribed by your doctor. If you think the medicine is too weak or too strong, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist. What side effects can ialugen have?The following side effects can occur when using ialugen: In very rare cases, sodium hyaluronate or any additives contained in ialugen can lead to allergic symptoms (e.g. itching, eczema, reddening of the skin, skin reactions or burning sensation), especially after long-term use.
