Squa-med is a medicinal shampoo with two substances that complement each other's effects: Zinc pyrithione inhibits dandruff without penetrating the skin. Undecylenamide MEA prevents excessive greasing of the hair. Squa-med normalizes abnormally increased dandruff production without stimulating the sebaceous glands. The two active ingredients zinc pyrithione and undecylenamide MEA also work against certain bacteria and fungi that are often observed in scalp diseases. Squa-med also has an antipruritic effect, is kind to the skin, mild and allows the dandruff to be washed out thoroughly. When is caution required when using Squa-med?Do not bring Squa-med into contact with the eyes, otherwise rinse immediately with plenty of water. In infants and small children under the age of 2 years, Squa-med may only be used after medical clarification. Inform your doctor, pharmacist or druggist if you suffer from other illnesses, have allergies or are taking other medicines (including those you bought yourself) or using them externally. Can Squa-med be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding?Systematic scientific studies have never been carried out. Based on previous experience, there is no known risk for the child when used as intended. Squa-med can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. How do you use Squa-med?Squa-med is used like a normal shampoo. Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, treatment of the scalp with Squa-med is carried out once or twice a week. 1. Wet the hair well with lukewarm water. Rub Squa-med into the hair and let it foam. 2. Rinse hair and scalp thoroughly. 3. Gently massage Squa-med into the scalp again and leave on for 3 to 5 minutes. Finally rinse the hair well. This treatment can last a few weeks until the hair is dandruff-free. Use of Squa-med for pityriasis versicolor1. Moisten affected skin areas well. 2. Apply a thin layer of Squa-med and spread it evenly over the affected areas of skin by gently rubbing it (generously over the affected areas) and let it foam. 3. Leave the foam on for 20 minutes. 4. Rinse and dry thoroughly. 5. Repeat this treatment for four consecutive days. An immediate repeat of the treatment may be indicated in some cases. Squa-med may be used on children, but only on infants and small children under the age of 2 after prior medical clarification. What side effects can Squa-med have?When Squa-med is used properly, no side effects or allergies have been observed to date, although hypersensitivity reactions can occur.
