Allergo-COMOD, eye drops contain the active ingredient sodium cromoglicate. They are used to relieve and treat various allergy-related conjunctivitis such as hay fever conjunctivitis that occurs in spring, chronic allergic conjunctivitis and spring keratoconjunctivitis (inflammation of the cornea and conjunctiva). Allergo-COMOD, eye drops should be used early and regularly. Full effectiveness is achieved after 2-4 weeks of consistent use. Swissmedic-approved patient informationAllergo-COMOD®Ursapharm Schweiz GmbHWhat is Allergo-COMOD and when is it used?Allergo-COMOD, eye drops contain the active ingredient sodium cromoglicate. What should be considered? In the case of severe allergic diseases, the cause should be determined by means of a special allergological balance in order to eliminate the triggering causes. Note for contact lens wearers: Wearing contact lenses is generally not indicated for allergic eye problems. Therefore, only put the contact lenses back in when the allergy has subsided. However, if you are dependent on wearing contact lenses, remove them immediately before applying the drops and wait at least 15 minutes after application. Keep in mind that your eyes are more sensitive to contact lenses during allergy symptoms and during treatment with Allergo-COMOD. When must Allergo-COMOD not be used?Allergo-COMOD, eye drops must not be used if you are hypersensitive to sodium cromoglicate or one of the other ingredients. When is caution required when using Allergo-COMOD?There is no experience with children under the age of 4 years. If the cause of the eye inflammation is unclear or if it gets worse or if new symptoms appear, e.g. a decrease in visual acuity, you should see a doctor immediately. Immediately after application, there is a short-term impairment of vision. Therefore you must wait until the blurred vision has passed before driving or using machines. Tell your doctor, pharmacist or druggist if you suffer from other diseases, have allergies ortake other medicines (including those you bought yourself!) or use them on the eye! Can Allergo-COMOD be used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?Based on previous experience, there is no known risk for the child if used as directed. However, systematic scientific investigations have never been carried out. As a precaution, you should avoid taking medicines during pregnancy and breastfeeding or ask your doctor, pharmacist or druggist for advice. How do you use Allergo-COMOD?Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the following applies to adults and children over the age of 4: 1-2 drops of Allergo -Insert COMOD into the conjunctival sac of each eye 4 times a day. Distribute the application evenly throughout the day. Even after the symptoms have subsided, treatment with Allergo-COMOD should be continued as long as there is contact with the allergenic substances (pollen, animal hair, etc.). In contrast to conventional eye drop bottles, with the COMOD system you press the bottom of the bottle to drip. Handling:Remove the protective cap before use. Before using Allergo-COMOD for the first time, please press the bottom of the bottle until the first drop emerges from the tip of the bottle. After that, the bottle is ready for the following applications. Hold the vial with the dropper tip down as shown in the sketch and without pausing, press the bottom of the vial until it stops. This activates the mechanism to extract a drop. Due to the special valve technology of the COMOD system, the size and speed of the drop is always the same, regardless of the pressure on the bottom of the bottle. Tilt your head back slightly, pull the lower eyelid slightly away from the eye and place a drop in the lower conjunctival sac as instructed. Close your eyes slowly. Close the bottle carefully after use. Eye drops should always be used in such a way that the dropper tip does not come into contact with the eye, skin of the face or hands. For production reasons, a small amount of liquid remains in the bottle at the end of the use-up time. Stick to the dosage given in the package leaflet or as prescribed by your doctor. If you think the medicine is too weak or too strong, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist. What side effects can Allergo-COMOD have?Active ingredients contained in eye preparations can enter the bloodstream. Side effects can therefore also occur in other parts of the body besides the eyes. Eye drops for the treatment of severely dry and chronically dry eyes, which ensure intensive and long-lasting moisturizing of the surface of the eye. A lasting moisturizing effect can only be achieved with highly viscous eye drops, which remain on the surface of the eye for significantly longer. The ingredient hyaluronic acid contained in Hylo-Gel is almost predestined for this task. Due to its special properties and the extraordinarily high quality of the hyaluronic acid contained in Hylo-Gel, a concentration of 0.2% is already sufficient to achieve a significantly increased viscosity of the drop solution. It is important that, despite the almost gel-like consistency of Hylo-Gel, there is no impairment of visual performance...

Occasionally, short-lasting visual disturbances occur until the gel is evenly distributed on the surface of the eye. This creates a small drop at the tube opening. At the same time, use the index finger of the other hand to gently pull the lower eyelid down. Now let the drop fall into the conjunctival sac by gently squeezing the tube without touching the eye with the tip of the tube. Children and adolescents:The use and safety of Viscotears in children and adolescents have not yet been tested. Follow the dosage given in the package leaflet or prescribed by your doctor, pharmacist or druggist. If you think the medicine is too weak or too strong, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist. If you need to use other medicines in your eyes at the same time as Viscotears, you should discuss this with the doctor, pharmacist or druggist treating you.
