No systematic scientific research has been conducted into the use of chlorhexidine digluconate and benzoxonium chloride in pregnant women. The potential risk for humans is unknown; however, it is believed to be very small because of the poor absorption of chlorhexidine digluconate and benzoxonium chloride after application to the skin.
