Flectoparin Tissugel is a self-adhesive, flexible patch to be placed on the skin, containing the active ingredients diclofenac and heparin. When should Flectoparin Tissugel not be used?Flectoparin Tissugel must not be used: In the case of hypersensitivity to the active ingredients or an excipient according to the composition (see «What does Flectoparin Tissugel contain?»);In the case of hypersensitivity to other pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory drugs (e.g. acetylsalicylic acid/aspirin );during pregnancy and breastfeeding (see also the chapter "Can Flectoparin Tissugel be used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?");on open wounds (e.g. skin abrasions, cuts , burns) or on eczematous skin;if there is a known reduction in blood platelets caused by heparin (so-called heparin-induced thrombocytopenia).In children: Flectoparin Tissugel has been used for the Use in children and adolescents not tested. When is caution required when using Flectoparin Tissugel?Flectoparin Tissugel must not come into contact with the eyes and mucous membranes. If you have or have had a stomach ulcer, you should only use Flectoparin Tissugel as prescribed by your doctor. Tell your doctor, pharmacist or druggist if you: have already used similar products (e.g. rheumatic ointments) and these led to allergic reactions;suffer from other illnesses, have allergies or take other medicines (including those you bought yourself!) or use them externally. This medicinal product contains 420 mg propylene glycol (E1520) per patch. Flectoparin Tissugel contains methyl (E218) and propyl (E216) parahydroxybenzoate. These can cause allergic reactions, including delayed reactions. Flectoparin Tissugel contains a fragrance with cinnamyl alcohol, 2-benzylidene heptanal, benzyl salicylate, hydroxycitronellal, isoeugenol, citronellol, eugenol. These substances can cause allergic reactions. Can Flectoparin Tissugel be taken/used during pregnancy or breastfeeding?As a precautionary measure, you should not use Flectoparin Tissugel during pregnancy and breastfeeding, unless explicitly stated medical prescription. Flectoparin Tissugel should not be used in the last trimester of pregnancy. How do you use Flectoparin Tissugel?AdultsApply 1 self-adhesive plaster to the skin area to be treated once a day . Before use, remove the clear film that protects the gelatinous surface. Instructions for use: see pictures on the bag. If the patch does not adhere well, as may be the case on the elbow, knee or ankle, use the elastic mesh stocking included in the pack for additional fixation. The duration of treatment should not exceed 10 days. ChildrenThe use and safety of Flectoparin Tissugel in children and adolescents has not yet been tested. Stick to the dosage given in the package leaflet or as prescribed by your doctor. If you think the medicine is too weak or too strong, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist. What side effects can Flectoparin Tissugel have?The following side effects can occur when using Flectoparin Tissugel: Itching, redness, swelling or blistering may occasionally occur at the treated area. Severe skin rash, allergic reactions such as wheezing, shortness of breath or swelling of the face, or increased sensitivity to sunlight have been observed very rarely. If any of the following side effects occur, stop taking Flectoparin Tissugel and tell your doctor immediately: severe skin rash,wheezing, shortness of breath, orfacial swelling.If you experience any side effects, click here are not described, you should inform your doctor, pharmacist or druggist. What else needs to be considered?The medicine should be stored at room temperature (15–25 °C) and out of the reach of children. The medicinal product may only be used up to the date marked «EXP» on the container. Once the envelope is first opened, the patches should be used within 3 months.
