In the case of prolonged treatment and/or in the case of slightly impaired renal function, it is recommended to have the amount of calcium excreted in the urine checked. Depending on the result, your doctor may reduce or even interrupt the treatment. In the case of treatment with digitalis preparations (cardiac glycosides) or thiazide diuretics (diuretics), administration of calcium in combination with vitamin D requires regular monitoring: In these cases, you must consult your doctor or cardiologist.
