What is Siccalix and when is it used? Siccalix is a nasal ointment for moistening dry nasal mucosa. Its promoting effects on the cell tissue support the regeneration of the skin and mucous membranes, especially in cases after an operation on the nasal septum. The two active ingredients contained in Siccalix, sea salt and dexpanthenol, complement each other in their effects. The properties of sea salt cause the nasal mucosa to be moistened, which means that the fine cilia in the nose are no longer obstructed and they can perform their function again. Dexpanthenol plays an important role in maintaining the metabolism in the upper cell layers of the skin and mucous membranes in the nose. Siccalix is used to moisten dry nasal mucosa, to clean the nasal cavities, to remove crusts. Upon recommendation pharmacist or on medical prescription, Siccalix is also used after operations on the nasal septum. When should Siccalix not be used? Siccalix should not be used if you are hypersensitive to one of the ingredients. When is caution required when using Siccalix? If used as directed, no special precautions need to be taken.
