Livostin eye drops quickly relieve the typical signs of conjunctivitis of a seasonal allergic nature, such as itching in the eye, redness, swelling of the conjunctiva and eyelids and tearing. What should be considered?Note for contact lens wearers: Soft, hydrophilic contact lenses should not be worn during treatment with Livostin eye drops. When should Livostin eye drops not be used?Livostin eye drops should not be used if you are hypersensitive to one of the ingredients. If you are unsure, ask your doctor, pharmacist or druggist. When is caution required when using Livostin eye drops?Do not use Livostin eye drops for longer than 2 weeks without a prescription. If the symptoms persist after this time, the doctor should be consulted. If prescribed by the doctor, the drug can be used for longer than 2 weeks. In this case, however, it should not be used for more than 3 months without medical controls. Children under the age of 6 should not use Livostin eye drops. After instillation of Livostin eye drops, undesirable effects such as eye irritation, pain, swelling, itching, redness, burning in the eyes, watery eyes and blurred vision may occur, which can affect vision. Patients should therefore only drive or operate machines with caution. This medicinal product contains 0.15 mg benzalkonium chloride and 9.5 mg phosphates per ml of suspension. Benzalkonium chloride can be absorbed by soft contact lenses and may discolour the contact lenses. You must remove the contact lenses before using this medicine and wait 15 minutes before putting them back in. Benzalkonium chloride can also cause eye irritation, particularly if you have dry eyes or diseases of the cornea (the clear layer at the front of the eye). Contact your doctor if you get an unusual feeling, burning or pain in your eye after using this medicine. Tell your doctor, pharmacist or druggist if you suffer from other diseases,have allergies ortake other medicines (including those you bought yourself!) or use them externally!Can Livostin eye drops be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding?Based on previous experience, there is no known risk for the child when used as directed. However, systematic scientific studies have never been carried out. Livostin eye drops may only be used during pregnancy with the permission of the doctor. The use of Livostin eye drops during breast-feeding is not recommended. How do you use Livostin eye drops?Shake the vial before use. To maintain the sterility of the eye drops, do not touch the dropper tip with your hands or eyes. Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, Livostin eye drops are used as follows: Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age: 1 drop in each eye, 2 times a day. If the symptoms are severe, the dosage can be increased to 1 drop 3-4 times a day. Children from 6-12 years: 1 drop in each eye 2 times a day.
