What should be considered?The most important measure to prevent deficiency symptoms is an adequate and varied diet. When must Pharmaton Vital tablets not be used?Pharmaton Vital tablets must not be taken: if there are calcium metabolism disorders such as increased calcium blood levels or increased calcium excretion in the urine;if the body is oversupplied with vitamin D;when taking other medicines Preparations containing vitamin D;in the case of kidney dysfunction;in the case of hypersensitivity to one of the ingredients;in the case of fructose intolerance; in case of galactose intolerance.When is caution required when taking Pharmaton Vital tablets?Except under medical supervision, Pharmaton Vital tablets should not to be taken for a long time in a dosage exceeding the recommendations. If ginseng is taken at the same time as medicines that inhibit blood clotting (so-called anticoagulants, especially coumarins), their effect can be weakened. Note for diabetics: ginseng can lower blood sugar levels. During treatment with certain antibiotics (e.g. active ingredient doxycycline), no iron-containing preparations such as Pharmaton Vital tablets should be taken. Pharmaton Vital tablets contain vitamin B6. This substance can reduce the effect of L-Dopa in the treatment of Parkinson's disease. In patients who are treated with L-Dopa, the use of Pharmaton Vital tablets is therefore only indicated if there is a strict indication and under medical supervision. Pharmaton Vital tablets contain 4.8 mg β-carotene per tablet. In clinical studies with heavy smokers (20 or more cigarettes per day), they showed an increased risk of lung cancer if they took 20 mg β-carotene over a longer period of time. Pharmaton Vital contains 150 µg biotin per tablet. If you are scheduled to have laboratory tests, you must tell your doctor or laboratory staff that you have recently taken Pharmaton Vital, as biotin may affect the results of these tests. Depending on the test method, biotin can cause falsely elevated or falsely reduced results. Your doctor may ask you to stop taking Pharmaton Vital before laboratory tests are carried out. Please note that other products such as multivitamin preparations or dietary supplements for hair, skin or nails also contain biotin and can therefore falsify the results of laboratory tests. Please tell your doctor or laboratory staff if you are taking such products. The effect on human fertility has not been studied. How do you use Pharmaton Vital tablets?Adults: In general, 1 film-coated tablet daily, preferably at breakfast, with some liquid. In general, the film-coated tablets are easy to swallow due to the film coating. Pharmaton Vital tablets are not intended for children and adolescents. What else needs to be considered?Pharmaton Vital tablets contain 27 mg lactose, 1 mg sucrose and 2 mg glucose. Store Pharmaton Vital tablets at room temperature (15-25°C) in the original packaging and glass bottle or carton. The glass bottle with the tablets must be protected from light and moisture.
