What is Nailcure Sandoz 50 mg/ml and when is it used?

Nailcure Sandoz 50 mg/ml nail polish is a medicine against fungal infections (mycoses) of the nails that is used externally. Without a doctor's prescription, Nailcure Sandoz 50 mg/ml nail polish is used to treat nail mycosis on the front and side edges of the nails (as in figure 1 below) if no more than two nails are affected. If the infection looks similar to that shown in picture #2 or #3 (in which more than just the front and side edges of the nail are affected), then you need to see a doctor.

Nail mycosis is usually associated with a white, yellow or brown discoloration and associated thickening of the nail, whereby the appearance of the infestation can vary greatly.

The active ingredient amorolfine contained in Nailcure Sandoz 50 mg/ml nail polish inhibits the growth of fungi and kills them. Nailcure Sandoz 50 mg/ml nail polish is effective against a wide variety of fungi, such as yeasts, the actual skin fungi (dermatophytes) and moulds. However, bacteria are not sensitive to amorolfine.

What should be considered?

< p>Fungal infections are often very persistent. The success of a treatment with Nailcure Sandoz 50 mg/ml nail polish depends on its uninterrupted use, which can take several months depending on the type of fungus, the site of infection and the degree of severity.

< div class="h">When must Nailcure Sandoz 50 mg/ml not be used?

You must not use Nailcure Sandoz 50 mg/ml nail polish if you are hypersensitive to the active substance amorolfine or have any of the excipients. If you have reacted hypersensitively to the treatment or to a treatment with amorolfine, Nailcure Sandoz 50 mg/ml must not be used again.

If you are pregnant, suspect or plan to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding do not use Nailcure Sandoz 50 mg/ml nail polish.

Nailcure Sandoz 50 mg/ml nail polish may only be used in children under the age of 12 in exceptional cases and on medical prescription.

When is caution required when using Nailcure Sandoz 50 mg/ml?

Inflammation and/or injuries to the adjacent skin, the doctor and a specialist experienced in nail care (e.g. podiatrist or podiatrist) should be consulted.

Nailcure Sandoz 50 mg/ml should not be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

How to use Nailcure Sandoz 50 mg/ml?

Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the affected fingernails or toenails are treated once a week with Nailcure Sandoz 50 mg/ml nail polish.

Good accompanying nail care is of decisive importance for the success of the therapy. It may be advisable to consult a specialist experienced in nail care (e.g. a podiatrist).

The nail polish should be applied as follows:

1. File diseased parts of the nails (especially nail surfaces) as well as possible with a nail file included in the pack. File as necessary over the course of the treatment.

Caution: A nail file used for the treatment must no longer be used to care for healthy nails, otherwise the infection could be spread.

2. Before each application, be sure to degrease the diseased nails and remove any paint residues that may be present. Use the enclosed swabs to degrease and clean the nail surface.

3. Dip one of the included reusable spatulas into the bottle of medicated varnish. The nail polish must not be wiped off the neck of the bottle.

4. Apply the nail polish to the whole area of ​​the diseased nail and let it dry. Re-dip the spatula for each nail to be treated.

87086.png5. To reuse, clean the spatula after use with the soaked swab already used on the nails and leave to dry for 1-2 minutes. Be careful not to touch freshly treated nails with the swab.

The nail polish should not be applied to the cuticles.

6. Close the bottle tightly immediately after use.

During the treatment, do not wear artificial nails.

Important remarks:

  • Nail polish spilled into the eyes or ears must be rinsed out immediately with water, then a doctor, pharmacist or druggist or the nearest hospital can be contacted immediately contact.

Duration of treatment

What side effects can Nailcure Sandoz 50 mg/ml have?

The following side effects can occur when using Nailcure Sandoz 50 mg/ml nail polish:

Occasionally, a slight, temporary burning sensation in the nail area has been observed after using the nail polish.

In rare cases, Nagelver Changes such as discoloration, brittle or broken nails have been reported. Such changes can also be caused by the fungal disease of the nail itself.

Very rarely, burning skin sensations near the nail have been observed.

Severe allergic reactions, which could be associated with swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat, shortness of breath and/or severe skin rash, contact dermatitis, redness, itching and hives have been observed with an unknown frequency.

You need to get prompt medical attention if you experience any of the following symptoms:
