Description

Antistax Forte vein tablets is a herbal medicine with red vine leaf extract as an active ingredient. The active ingredients contained in the red vine leaf extract protect and strengthen the blood vessel walls, increase their elasticity and reduce the formation of edema.

Antistax Forte vein tablets is used for the supportive and symptomatic treatment of heavy, tired, aching or swollen legs (such as varicose veins and oedema) as well as nocturnal calf cramps with itching and a feeling of tension (symptoms of venous circulatory disorders).

What is Antistax Forte vein tablets and when is it used?

Antistax Forte vein tablets is a herbal medicine with red vine leaf extract as the active ingredient. The active ingredients contained in the red vine leaf extract protect and strengthen the blood vessel walls, increase their elasticity and reduce the formation of edema.

Antistax Forte vein tablets is used for the supportive and symptomatic treatment of heavy, tired, aching or swollen legs (such as varicose veins and oedema) as well as nocturnal calf cramps with itching and a feeling of tension (symptoms of venous circulatory disorders).

What should be considered?

In addition to drug therapy, it is advisable to ensure sufficient exercise, avoid sitting or standing for long periods and to elevate your legs more often . Wearing support stockings or support tights is advisable.

When should Antistax Forte vein tablets not be used or only with caution?

Antistax Forte vein tablets should not be taken if you are hypersensitive to one or more ingredients (see composition). If unusual symptoms suddenly appear, especially on one leg, which are noticeable through severe pain, swelling, discolouration of the skin, a feeling of tension or heat, a doctor should be consulted immediately. These may be symptoms of venous thrombosis in the leg.

Persistent edema in both legs can have other causes and should be clarified by a doctor.

If your symptoms are not satisfactorily resolved within 6 weeks, you should stop using Antistax Forte vein tablets. In these cases, a doctor should be consulted.

Tell your doctor, pharmacist or druggist if you:

  • suffer from other diseases,
  • have allergies or
  • take other medicines (including those you bought yourself!) or use them externally!

Can Antistax Forte vein tablets be taken during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

Taking Antistax Forte vein tablets is not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding, as systematic scientific studies have shown have never been performed on pregnant and breastfeeding women.

How do you use Antistax Forte vein tablets?

Adults: Take 1 film-coated tablet once a day in the morning (360 mg vine leaf extract/day). For more severe symptoms, the dosage can be increased to 2 film-coated tablets daily (720 mg vine leaf extract/day). The film-coated tablets should be swallowed whole with some water before breakfast.

If the more severe symptoms do not improve after 7 days, or if unusually severe symptoms suddenly appear, a doctor must be consulted immediately. If there is no improvement within 6 weeks, even with moderate to mild symptoms, a doctor should be consulted (see “When should Antistax Forte vein tablets not be used or should only be used with caution?”). To achieve the full effect, Antistax Forte vein tablets should be taken over several weeks, but no longer than 3 months.

In the absence of empirical data, the drug is not recommended for children and adolescents under 18 years of age.

Follow the dosage given in the package leaflet or as prescribed by your doctor. If you think the medicine is too weak or too strong, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.

What side effects can Antistax Forte vein tablets have?

The following side effects can occur when taking Antistax Forte vein tablets: Occasional stomach problems, nausea and other problems in the gastrointestinal area . Hypersensitivity reactions including itchy rash and hives have been reported uncommonly after taking Antistax Forte vein tablets.

If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist. This also applies in particular to side effects that are not listed in this leaflet.

What else needs to be considered?

The medicinal product may only be used up to the date marked «EXP» on the container.

Storage instructions

Store at room temperature (15-25 °C) and protected from moisture in the original packaging. Only remove the film-coated tablet from the blister immediately before taking it.
