An ovulation test is a helpful tool to determine the fertile days of the menstrual cycle. The ovulation test reacts to the increase in the luteinizing hormone (LH) in the woman's urine and thus indicates the time of monthly ovulation (ovulation). How does the Evial Ovulation Test work?
Ovulation is the expulsion of an egg cell from the ovary. For pregnancy to occur, the egg must be fertilized within 24 hours of its release. Just before ovulation, the body produces an increased amount of luteinizing hormone (LH), which causes the egg to be expelled. The Evial Ovulation Test shows the level of LH in your urine. Ovulation usually occurs in the middle of the menstrual cycle. During these fertile days, the likelihood of conception is highest.

The ovulation test contains antibodies that react to the luteinizing hormone (LH) in the urine. If the urine comes into contact with the absorption wick, the urine sample is guided into the membrane with the help of capillaries. When the LH reaches the test area, a colored line appears. If the concentration of LH is low, the test strip reacts “negatively”, if the concentration of LH rises sharply, it changes to “positive”. As a check, a colored line appears in the control area, which shows whether the ovulation test was carried out correctly.

When do I start testing with the Evial ovulation test?
So that you don't have to carry out an ovulation test every day, first determine the length of your individual cycle and a larger time window for the fertile days. Cycle length is the number of days from the first day of your menstrual period to the day before your next menstrual period. If we take an interval of 28 days as an example, ovulation takes place around 14 days after the start of menstruation. Since deviations in the cycle are very common, which makes the calculation difficult, assume the shortest cycle so as not to miss ovulation. The ovulation test reacts positively
The optimal time window to get pregnant is very short. Since the sperm can only survive 2-3 days in the female body and the egg cell has to be fertilized within 24 hours after the jump, there is a period of 3-4 days per month when a child can be conceived. Therefore, the ideal time to have sex is after the first positive ovulation test. The Evial Ovulation Test always shows negative
The experiences with the Evial Ovulation Test are very good, but what if the result is always negative? A possible explanation would be the absence of ovulation. This is not uncommon when you don't ovulate for a while between two periods. Here we have to wait and try again in the next cycle.
But there are also few women with too little hormone increase in the course of the cycle. Although the Evial Ovulation Test is very sensitive with a measurement limit of 20mlU/ml LH in the urine, this threshold may not be sufficient in a few cases. Here you can try to carry out the ovulation test with the morning urine. If the ovulation test still doesn't work, it makes sense to go to the gynecologist. There the LH value is determined and examined, why the ovulation test does not work and whether another measuring method makes sense.

The Evial Ovulation Test as a contraceptive
If an ovulation test can indicate when you are fertile, shouldn't it also be used as a natural contraceptive method? This is entirely possible, but involves a certain risk. Natural cycle fluctuations could, for example, shift the time of ovulation (ovulation). Using the Evial Ovulation Test Midstream
Tear open the sealed packaging to test. Remove the test from the package.
Hold the round end in one hand. With the other hand, remove the protective cap and expose the absorbent tip.
Hold the absorbent tip down. Hold the absorbent tip in the urine stream or container for at least 6 seconds until sufficiently soaked. Do not urinate on the area above the mark (arrow).
Replace the protective cap on the end and wait for the colored bands to appear. When detection begins, you may notice a slight red haze in the results area. The test should be read after approximately 3-5 minutes (3-5 minutes after immersion in urine). No more reading after 10 minutes.
