What is fluidosis and when will it be it applied?

Fluidose is an artificial tear fluid.

On the recommendation of the pharmacist or on the prescription of a doctor, Fluidose is used to moisten dry eyes of various causes.

What should you be aware of?

This medicine was prescribed to you by your doctor, pharmacist or druggist to treat your current eye problems. Do not use it to treat other conditions or third parties.

Note for contact lens wearers: Remove the contact lenses before applying the drops and wait at least 20 minutes before putting them back in.

When should Fluidose not be used?

In the case of known or suspected hypersensitivity (allergy) to an ingredient in Fluidose.

When is caution required when using fluidosis?

If there is no improvement after 2-3 days, a doctor should be consulted. Long-term therapy is part of medical treatment. If it gets worse or if new symptoms appear, e.g. a decrease in visual acuity, a doctor must be consulted immediately.

Blurred vision is possible for a short time after application. In such a case, driving vehicles and operating machines should be avoided until the eyesight returns to normal.

Inform your doctor, pharmacist or druggist if you suffer from other illnesses, have allergies or are taking other medicines (even those you bought yourself!) or use them on your eyes.

Can Fluidose be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding should only be permitted with the permission of your doctor, pharmacist or druggist or your doctor, pharmacist or druggist happen.

How do you use Fluidose?

Adults: 1 drop in the conjunctival sac of the affected eye 3 times a day. The frequency of applications can be increased if necessary.

Application

Wash your hands before using the medicine. Twist the cap to open the container and drop the solution into the eye. To maintain the sterility of the eye drops, do not touch the dropper tip with your hands or eyes. The single dose must be thrown away immediately after use.

If you use other eye preparations, there should be a 15 minute interval between applications of the preparations to the eye. Fluidosis should always be the last preparation to be instilled. Take a new single dose for each use and throw it away immediately after use.

The use in children and adolescents is not recommended as no corresponding studies have been carried out in this age group.

Stick to the dosage given in the package leaflet or as prescribed by your doctor. If you think the medicine is too weak or too strong, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.

What side effects can Fluidosis have?

The following side effects can occur when using Fluidosis:

Immune system disorders

Hypersensitivity reactions to an ingredient are possible.

Eye diseases

Temporary visual disturbances and mild burning and stinging immediately after use causing temporary visual impairment. Sticky eyelid sensation and irritation after application.

If you notice side effects that are not described here, you should inform your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.

What else needs to be considered?

Durability

The drug may only be used up to the expiry date marked on the package with «EXP:». Fluidose, eye drops do not contain a preservative, so a new single dose should be used for each application. Once the sachet has been opened, the single doses should not be used for more than four weeks.

Retention/Storage

Store in the closed original package at room temperature (15-25°C) and out of the reach of children.

After completing the treatment, take the opened pack to your point of sale (doctor's practice, pharmacy or drugstore) for professional disposal.
