What is Zeller Sleep Forte and when is it used?

Zeller Sleep Forte contains dry extracts from valerian roots and hop cones (Ze 91019). Zeller Sleep Forte is a standardized herbal medicinal product. Standardization ensures consistent quality from batch to batch. The two proven medicinal plants valerian and hops complement each other. They have a sleep-inducing effect and enable a restful sleep through mild calming.

Zeller Sleep Forte is therefore used for: problems falling asleep and staying asleep as well as restless sleep.

What precautions should be taken?

If you have trouble sleeping, you should avoid consuming stimulating drinks (coffee, black tea), nicotine and heavy food in the evening. Get used to a regular sleep pattern. A short walk in the fresh air, a soothing bath or reading a book in a relaxed atmosphere encourages sleep. Also, keep in mind that sleep duration varies from person to person and decreases with age.

If your symptoms last longer than a month, you should seek medical help.

This medicinal product contains approximately 200 mg of usable carbohydrates per single dose (1 film-coated tablet).

When should Zeller Sleep Forte not be taken or should it only be taken with caution?

The film-coated tablets must not be taken if you are hypersensitive to one of the ingredients (see «What does Zeller Sleep Forte contain?»).

Can Zeller Sleep Forte be taken during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?

Based on previous experience, there is no known risk to the unborn child when used as directed. However, systematic scientific investigations have never been carried out. As a precaution, you should avoid taking medicines during pregnancy and breastfeeding or ask your doctor, pharmacist or druggist for advice.

How do you use Zeller Sleep Forte?

Adults and adolescents from 12 years of age take one film-coated tablet with some liquid one hour before bedtime. Children from 6 years receive half the dose, ie half a film-coated tablet.

Stick to the dosage given in the package leaflet or prescribed by your doctor. If you think the medicine is too weak or too strong, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.

What side effects can Zeller Sleep Forte have?

The following side effects can occur when taking Zeller Sleep Forte:

Gastrointestinal complaints (e.g. nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain) can occur after taking valerian root preparations. The frequency is not known.

Furthermore, due to the additives used, undesirable effects such as skin reactions can occur in very rare cases.

The medicinal product may only be used up to the date marked “EXP” on the container.

Store at room temperature (15-25°C) in the original packaging.

What does Zeller Sleep Forte contain?

1 film-coated tablet contains 500 mg dry extract of valerian root (DEV non-native 4-6:1), extractant methanol 45% ( m/m ), 120 mg dry extract of hop cones (DEV non-native 5-7:1), extractant methanol 45 % ( m/m ).

This preparation also contains auxiliary substances, including indigotine (E 132).
