Description

Pruri-med is a lightly disinfecting skin wash emulsion specially designed for itchy and dry skin.

The disodium undecylenamido MEA-sulfosuccinate contained in Pruri-med has a slightly growth-inhibiting effect on various bacteria and fungi and prevents skin infections. Moisturizing substances protect the skin from excessive water loss and dehydration. Polidocanol 600 combats the annoying itching.

Pruri-med stabilizes the protective acid layer of the skin in the physiological pH range of 5.5.

Pruri-med is alkali-free and contains no dyes, perfumes or preservatives.

Pruri-med is used to support the treatment of skin diseases that are associated with inflamed or itchy skin, such as:

  • atopic eczema (neurodermatitis) and other eczema;
  • ageing itch;
  • itching of the skin without symptoms;
  • skin fungal diseases;
  • Occupational dermatoses;
  • Itching on the anus, etc.

What is Pruri -med and when is it used?

When should Pruri-med not be used?

In the case of an existing hypersensitivity to one of the ingredients, Pruri-med must not be used.

When is caution required when using Pruri-med?

If used as directed, no special precautions need to be followed.

Inform your doctor, pharmacist or druggist if you suffer from other illnesses, have allergies or are taking other medicines (even those you bought yourself!) or using them externally.

Can Pruri-med be taken/used during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

Based on previous experience, there is no known risk for the child when used as intended. Since Pruri-med is rinsed off immediately, a risk can be practically ruled out.

How do you use Pruri-med?

Adults and children

Pruri-med is applied like liquid soap.

Moisten the diseased skin areas well with lukewarm water, then apply a few splashes of Pruri-med directly to the skin and wash gently. Then rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry with a clean cloth without rubbing.

Pruri-med may also be used on babies, toddlers and children.

In children under 2 years of age, the preparation may only be used on medical prescription.

Follow the dosage given in the package leaflet or as prescribed by your doctor. If you think Pruri-med is too weak or too strong, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.

What side effects can Pruri-med have?

Pruri-med is generally well tolerated.

The following side effects can occur when using Pruri-med:

In rare cases, reddening of the skin, itching or burning may occur.

If you notice side effects that are not described here, you should inform your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.

What else needs to be considered?

Store Pruri-med at room temperature (15-25 °C) and out of the reach of children.

The medicinal product may only be used up to the date marked «EXP» on the container.

1 g skin wash emulsion contains: 30 mg disodium undecylenamido MEA sulfosuccinate, 50 mg macrogol -9-lauryl ether (Polidocanol 600), detergents and other additives.
