What is Olbas oil and when is it used?

Olbas Oil is a herbal medicine composed of 3 different essential oils.

Olbas Oil is suitable for inhaling and rubbing in. It is used for colds with a runny nose, catarrh, sore throat and cough.

When should Olbas Oil not be used or only with caution?

Do not use if

Known hypersensitivity to essential oils or to any of the ingredients (see composition);

Infants and children under 3 years of age;

Hypersensitivity to analgesic and anti-inflammatory substances (especially salicylic acid compounds, aspirin).

Patients with a tendency to allergic reactions to essential oils or with bronchial asthma may only use Olbas oil after consulting their doctor.

Use only on uninjured skin, not on mucous membranes.

Do not apply to the face, especially not near the eyes.

In patients with previously damaged kidneys, Olbas Oil should only be used for a short time and not over large areas be used.

Inform your doctor, pharmacist or druggist if you suffer from other illnesses, have allergies or are taking other medicines (even those you bought yourself!) or using them externally.< /p>

Can Olbas Oil be taken during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?

Olbas Oil must not be used during pregnancy and while breastfeeding, unless for a short period of time, not on a large scale and only with a doctor's prescription.

How do you use Olbas Oil?

Adults

Dry inhalation: Squirt a few (1-3) drops onto a clean handkerchief and breathe in.

Moist inhalation: 3-5 drops of Olbas Oil in a Pour hot water into the basin and inhale the fumes. Once the oil has evaporated, add another 3-5 drops to the water. This water vapor inhalation should last a maximum of 10 minutes. Stay warm after the treatment!

Rub on the neck and chest: Rub with Olbas oil (10-20 drops) up to 5 times a day and cover warmly. Wash hands well after use. Eyes and mucous membranes should not come into contact with the preparation.

The use and safety of Olbas Oil has not been tested in children and adolescents.

Observe the instructions given in the leaflet or dosage prescribed by the doctor. If you think the medicine is too strong or too weak, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.

Side effects Olbas Oil?

If painful, itchy and inflammatory skin changes occur, discontinue treatment and consult a doctor if necessary.
