What is Imazol Crèmepaste and when is it used?

Imazol Crèmepaste is a preparation which destroys fungi and certain bacteria that attack the skin. Imazol Crèmepaste shows good adhesion and a drying effect and is therefore particularly suitable for diaper rash and other acute weeping infections (e.g. in the groin area).

When should Imazol Crèmepaste not be used?

In the case of known hypersensitivity to one of the ingredients or hypersensitivity to other drugs of the same substance class (imidazole derivatives). Imazol cream paste must not be used in the area around the eyes.

When is caution required when using Imazol Crèmepaste?

In the case of extensive fungal infestation or joint infestation of the nails, a doctor should be consulted.

The preparation must not be used on open wounds or mucous membranes.

Application should be discontinued at the first occurrence of local or generalized hypersensitivity or local irritation.

The preparation contains cetostearyl alcohol, cetyl and stearyl alcohol; these can lead to irritation and local skin reactions (e.g. contact dermatitis).

The preparation contains butylated hydroxyanisole (E320) as an antioxidant; this can cause local skin irritation and reactions (e.g. contact dermatitis) or irritation of the eyes and mucous membranes.

In the absence of latex compatibility studies, contact between this preparation and the condom should be avoided.

Can Imazol Crèmepaste be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding, Imazol Crèmepaste must not be used, except on express medical prescription.

How do you use Imazol Crèmepaste?

Adults, adolescents and children from the age of 1

Depending on the recommendation of the doctor, pharmacist or druggist, Imazol Cream Paste is applied twice a day (morning and evening) after washing and drying thoroughly to the diseased skin areas and rubbed in lightly. The amount required depends on the size of the area to be treated. In most cases, a ½ cm strand is sufficient for an area the size of the palm of a hand.

Reliable and sufficiently long use is important for successful treatment. The duration of treatment is 2 to 6 weeks depending on the type of pathogen, the extent and localization of the disease and is usually determined by the doctor, pharmacist or druggist. Insufficient duration of use or stopping treatment too early, even if the symptoms have already subsided, can result in the disease flaring up again.

If the symptoms worsen or do not improve within 4 weeks, a doctor should be consulted.

Infants and toddlers in the 1st year of life

Infants and small children in the first year of life with diaper dermatitis are usually also treated twice a day (morning and evening) when changing diapers with Imazol cream paste. The amount required depends on the size of the area to be treated. The paste should only be applied in a thin layer to the diseased skin areas. Even if the symptoms improve quickly, the treatment should be carried out for a total of 14 days.

If the symptoms worsen or do not improve within 4 weeks, a doctor should be consulted.

Stick to the dosage given in the package leaflet or as prescribed by your doctor. If you think the medicine is too weak or too strong, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.

What side effects can Imazol Cream Paste have?

The following side effects can occur when using Imazol Cream Paste:

Hypersensitivity reactions and irritation from any of the ingredients in Imazol Crèmepaste are rare. They can show up as burning, redness, swelling, blisters, nodules or itching.
