Combizym is a combination of plant enzymes and pancreatic enzymes. It supports the body's own enzymes necessary for the digestion of all foods. This prevents or alleviates indigestion.
Combizym is a two-stage preparation, which means that the enzymes it contains are released in two phases at the point where they are most effective:
Phase 1
The plant enzyme concentrate from Aspergillus oryzae develops its activity in the stomach soon after ingestion. The proteases break down food protein, the amylases initiate the breakdown of carbohydrate-rich food, and the cellulases reduce flatulence by breaking down plant structural substances that are difficult to digest at an early stage.
Phase 2
The enzymes from the pancreas come into effect in the intestine. They support the breakdown of food by further breaking down protein and carbohydrates, and the lipases ensure pain-free fat digestion.
Combizym is used to prevent and treat digestive problems, especially after difficult to digest and fatty food or insufficient chewing, as well as non-specific digestive disorders such as flatulence, bloating and belching.
To support the treatment and improve your well-being, we recommend that you divide your daily food intake into several small meals.
If symptoms persist for a long time, you should see a doctor.
Do not take Combizym if you have a known allergy to pork or Aspergillus extracts.
Like all preparations containing pancreatin, Combizym must not be taken in the early stages of acute pancreatitis and in acute attacks (sudden worsening) of chronic pancreatitis.
In general, digestive problems in children under 12 should always be checked by a doctor. Combizym should only be taken by children and adolescents if prescribed by a doctor.
Inform your doctor, pharmacist or druggist if you
