Supradyn Vital 50+ contains the most important vitamins, essential minerals, and trace elements, as well as ginseng, in balanced amounts for adults over 50 years of age. Vitamins and minerals are essential substances that the body receives through food.
They are essential components for metabolism and for the body's regeneration (for example, for bones, blood, and heart). Trace elements are vital substances that the organism needs in very small quantities. These substances are not always present in sufficient quantities in daily food.
Supradyn Vital 50+ is used for reduced physical and mental performance, e.g., in old age, in cases of concentration difficulties, fatigue, exhaustion, and increased physical and mental stress.
For diabetics: 1 effervescent tablet contains 0.8 g, 1 film-coated tablet contains 0.2 g of usable carbohydrates. Both the film-coated and effervescent tablets are nevertheless suitable for diabetics.
You should not take Supradyn Vital 50+ if you already have an excess of vitamin A and/or D (so-called hypervitaminosis), or if you are simultaneously taking other products containing vitamin A and/or D, or if you are being treated with retinoids (for example, for acne). Likewise, you should not take Supradyn Vital 50+ if you are allergic to the active ingredients or any of the excipients listed in the composition, if you have excessively high calcium levels in your blood (hypercalcemia) or urine (hypercalciuria), if you have impaired kidney function, or if you have an iron and/or copper metabolism disorder.
If you suffer from lactose intolerance, you should not take the film-coated tablets (they contain lactose).
Supradyn Vital 50+ effervescent tablets contain soybean oil. They should not be taken if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to peanuts or soy.
Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, you should not exceed the recommended daily amount of 1 effervescent or film-coated tablet. Taking very high doses of some ingredients, especially vitamin A, vitamin D, iron, and copper, can be harmful to your health. If you are taking other multivitamin or single-vitamin supplements at the same time, you should consult your doctor or pharmacist before use.
Please also consult your doctor or pharmacist before use if you are under medical care or taking other medications, especially anticoagulants. An interaction between ginseng and medications that inhibit blood clotting (so-called anticoagulants, especially coumarins) cannot be ruled out.
Note for diabetics: Ginseng can lower blood glucose levels.
Patients with a known predisposition to the formation of urinary or kidney stones should consult their doctor before use.
If you are taking Parkinson's medications containing levodopa, you should consult your doctor before use. If simultaneous use is necessary, the individual preparations should be taken 2 hours apart.
This medicine contains 220.6 mg lactose per film-coated tablet, 169 mg maltitol per effervescent tablet, and 1.90-2.03 mg or 7.27-9.02 mg sucrose per film-coated or effervescent tablet, respectively. Please only take Supradyn Vital 50+ after consulting your doctor if you know that you have a sugar intolerance. This medicine contains 354 mg sorbitol and 40 mg aspartame per effervescent tablet.
Aspartame is a source of phenylalanine. It may be harmful if you have phenylketonuria (PKU), a rare, inherited condition in which phenylalanine builds up because the body cannot break it down sufficiently.
If you are taking heartburn medications (e.g., antacids), antibiotics (e.g., tetracyclines, fluoroquinolones), thyroid medications (e.g., levothyroxine), or medications containingIf you are taking penicillamine, medications for viral infections, medications for heart failure (e.g., digoxin), blood pressure and diuretic medications (e.g., thiazides), osteoporosis medications (e.g., bisphosphonates), or foods containing oxalic acid (e.g., spinach and rhubarb) or phytic acid (e.g., fiber-containing whole-grain products), you should leave a gap of 2 hours between taking Supradyn Vital 50+ and taking Supradyn Vital 50+.
If you must follow a low-salt diet: Supradyn Vital 50+ contains 0.94 mg sodium per film-coated tablet, i.e., they are virtually sodium-free, or 227 mg sodium per effervescent tablet. 11.35% of the WHO recommended daily intake of 2g for an adult. For patients following a low-salt diet, the use of film-coated tablets is recommended instead of effervescent tablets.
Inform your doctor, pharmacist, or druggist if you:
