What is carbamide emulsion and when is it used?
The active ingredient in carbamide emulsion, urea, has pronounced water-binding properties in the present dosage. This results in better moisturizing of the skin in the fatty oil-in-water emulsion. It becomes more elastic and less dry.
The carbamide emulsion is used externally for dry and scaly skin diseases (slight keratinization disorders). For very dry, rough skin.
