What is GRANUFINK Prosta forte and when is it used?

GRANUFINK Prosta forte is traditionally used, after a doctor has ruled out serious illnesses, to relieve symptoms of the lower urinary tract in men that occur as a result of an overactive bladder or a benign enlargement of the prostate (e.g. urinary urgency, frequent urination during the day and at night, incomplete bladders urination and difficulty urinating).

What do you need to know about this?

This medicine only relieves the symptoms caused by an enlarged prostate, but does not reverse the enlargement itself. You should therefore see your doctor regularly.

You must see your doctor if the following happen while you are using this medicine:

• you see blood in your urine
• you get a fever
• you have pain when urinating
• you experience urinary retention.

When should GRANUFINK Prosta forte not be taken or should only be taken with caution?

GRANUFINK Prosta forte must not be taken if you are allergic to the active ingredient or other pumpkin-like plants (e.g. watermelon, zucchini, etc.) or to any of the substances listed in the section "What does GRANUFINK Prosta forte contain?" are the other ingredients of this medicine listed below.

If symptoms worsen or if symptoms such as fever, cramps or blood in the urine, painful urination or urinary retention occur while using this medicine, you should consult a doctor.

Granufink Prosta forte is not recommended for children and adolescents under the age of 18, as complaints of the lower urinary tract in this age group require a medical diagnosis. GRANUFINK Prosta forte may only be used in this age group if prescribed by a doctor.

GRANUFINK Prosta forte does not affect your ability to drive or use machines.

Inform your doctor, pharmacist or pharmacist if you suffer from other illnesses, have allergies or are taking other medications (even those you bought yourself!)!

Can GRANUFINK Prosta forte be taken during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

GRANUFINK Prosta forte is not indicated for use in women.

How do you use GRANUFINK Prosta forte?

Adults: Take 1 capsule twice a day with sufficient liquid, preferably before meals.

In general, use is not limited in time. Please observe all warnings and precautionary measures in the "What should be considered?" sections. and «When should GRANUFINK Prosta forte not be taken or when should it be taken with caution?».

If you have accidentally taken more than the recommended dose of GRANUFINK Prosta forte, the section «What side effects can GRANUFINK Prosta forte have?» listed side effects occur more frequently. If any of these side effects are serious, please contact your doctor.

Children and adolescents under the age of 18: People under the age of 18 are not recommended to take GRANUFINK Prosta forte.

Do not take a double dose of GRANUFINK Prosta forte to make up for a forgotten dose. Take the next dose at the usual time as described in this leaflet.

What side effects can GRANUFINK Prosta forte have?

The following side effects can occur when taking GRANUFINK Prosta forte: Gastrointestinal complaints and, in rare cases, hypersensitivity reactions (urticaria, facial oedema, anaphylactic shock).

If you have gastrointestinal complaints or hypersensitivity reactions, please inform your doctor so that he/she determine the severity of the symptoms and decide on any treatment that may be necessary.

If you notice any side effects that are not described here, you should inform your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.

What else needs to be considered?

The medicine may only be used up to the date marked "EXP" on the container. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.

Keep GRANUFINK Prosta forte out of the reach of children. Store at room temperature (15-25 °C).

Please hand over any medicines remaining after the end of treatment or those that have expired to your point of sale (doctor, pharmacy or drugstore) for proper disposal.

What does GRANUFINK Prosta forte contain?

GRANUFINK Prosta forte are brown hard gelatine capsules in a PVC-aluminium blister pack.

The active ingredient is the soft extract of pumpkin seeds from specially bred medicinal pumpkin varieties. One capsule contains 500 mg soft extract of pumpkin seeds (Cucurbita pepo L. convar. citrullina I. Greb. var. styriaca I. Greb.) 15-25: 1), extractant: ethanol 92% (m/m).

The other ingredients/excipients are: partially methylated silicon dioxide, colloidal, anhydrous; Gelatin; red iron oxide (E172); Iron(II, III) oxide (E172).
