When is Biodoron 5% used?

According to anthroposophic knowledge of man and nature, Biodoron 5% can be used for the basic (interval) and attack treatment of migraine, especially classic migraine and vasomotor (migraine-like) headaches.

Biodoron 5% works through its three components iron, sulfur and quartz stabilizes vegetative functions and reduces the frequency of migraine attacks.

What should you pay attention to?

If your doctor has prescribed other medicines, ask your doctor or pharmacist whether Biodoron 5% can be taken at the same time.

When should Biodoron 5% not be taken or should only be taken with caution?

The use and safety of Biodoron 5% in children under the age of 6 has not yet been tested and is therefore not recommended.

Do not use if you are hypersensitive to an ingredient or in children under the age of 1 year. Patients with sensitive stomachs should be careful when taking Biodoron 5%.

Medicines containing iron can reduce the effect of certain antibiotics (tetracyclines).

Inform your doctor, pharmacist or druggist if you

• suffer from other diseases,
• have allergies or
• other medicines (also self-made bought!).

Can Biodoron 5% be taken during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

Based on previous experience, there is no known risk for the child when used as intended. However, systematic scientific studies have never been carried out.

Since the need for iron is increased during pregnancy, it may be necessary to take iron-containing preparations during pregnancy and Biodoron 5% is an iron preparation, this medicine can also be taken during pregnancy and breastfeeding for migraine prophylaxis and seizure therapy. However, Biodoron 5% cannot replace any necessary iron substitution therapy, as its iron content is relatively low.

How do you use Biodoron 5%?

Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, adults and children (from 6 years of age) take Biodoron 5% as follows:

For migraine interval treatment (preventive): 1 tablet 2-3 times a day ( mornings and evenings, possibly also at lunchtime) before meals.

If you are about to have a migraine attack or during a migraine attack: Take 1-3 tablets several times a day (possibly every hour).

The tablets are swallowed whole with a little water. Do not drink black tea or coffee half an hour before and half an hour after taking Biodoron 5% (because of the high tannin content).

Stick to the dosage given in the package insert or prescribed by the doctor. If the desired improvement does not occur when a child is treated, he or she should see a doctor.

If you think the drug is too weak or too strong, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.

What side effects can Biodoron 5% have?

In rare cases, people with sensitive stomachs can take Biodoron 5 % cause a feeling of pressure in the stomach and nausea.

If Biodoron 5% is chewed, a metallic taste may be noticed (due to the iron content) and discolouration of the teeth may occur.

If you notice any side effects that are not described here, you should inform your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.

What else should be observed?

If the symptoms worsen or are absent Discontinue Biodoron 5% and inform your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.

Biodoron 5% may have a slightly brown mottled appearance, but this has no effect on the effectiveness of the preparation.

Keep the medicinal product out of the reach of children and at room temperature (15-25 °C).

The medicinal product may only be used up to the date marked "EXP" on the container.

1 200 mg tablet contains: 20 mg ferrum quartz 50% [ferrum sulfuricum (prep. e siderite) / quartz].
