What is Calperos D3 and when is it used?

Calperos D3 contains the active ingredients calcium and vitamin D3, which are important for healthy bone formation.

The preparation is suitable for the treatment and prevention of diseases that are based on a vitamin D or calcium deficiency in old age and to support the prevention and therapy of osteoporosis.

When should Calperos D3 not be taken?

If you are hypersensitive to one or more ingredients according to the composition, with an increased calcium level in the blood , increased excretion of calcium in the urine, severely impaired kidney function, kidney or bladder stones, after a long period of immobility or if your doctor has told you not to take calcium.

Since Calperos D3 contains aspartame, it must not be used in phenylketonuria.

When is caution required when taking Calperos D3?

In chronic kidney dysfunction and stone formation in the urinary tract.

Since Calperos D3 already contains vitamin D, additional vitamin D intake should be under medical supervision to avoid overdosing.

Caution is advised when taking cardiac glycosides and diuretics (thiazides) at the same time, as interactions can occur.

Since taking corticosteroids at the same time leads to increased calcium excretion via the kidneys, the  Calperos D3 dose may need to be increased after consultation with your doctor.

Patients who are being treated concomitantly with antibiotics (tetracyclines) or barbiturates should always keep a time interval of about 3 hours between taking these medicines and Calperos D3; certain antibiotics (quinolones) should be taken 2 hours before or 4-6 hours after administration of Calperos D3.

In the case of simultaneous treatment with a bisphosphonate, cholestyramine, iron preparations, sodium fluoride or paraffin, an interval of at least 2 hours should be observed before taking Calperos D3 . The same applies to the simultaneous intake of food rich in oxalic or phytic acid (spinach, rhubarb, whole grain cereals).

If the thyroid hormone levothyroxine is administered at the same time, the interval should be 4 hours.

If you lose your appetite, are extremely thirsty, feel sick or vomit, you should contact your doctor immediately.

Inform your doctor, pharmacist or druggist if you suffer from other illnesses, have allergies or are taking other medicines (even those you bought yourself!) or using them externally!

Can Calperos D3 be taken/used during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

You should take Calperos D3, unless expressly prescribed by a doctor, do not take.

How do you use Calperos D3?

Adults take 1-2 lozenges of Calperos D3 per day . The tablets can be sucked or chewed. If you take 2 tablets per day, these are divided into morning and evening.

Calperos D3 is not intended for use in children and adolescents under the age of 18.

Follow the dosage given in the package leaflet or as prescribed by your doctor. If you think the medicine is too weak or too strong, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.

What side effects can Calperos D3 have?

Occasionally increased calcium levels in the blood and increased excretion in the urine.

In rare cases, slight disturbances in the digestive tract such as constipation, upper abdominal complaints such as a feeling of fullness, slight flatulence, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. Itching, skin rash and hives can also occur rarely.
