When is caution required when using Viscotears SDU?
If there is no improvement after 2-3 days, consult a doctor. If it even gets worse or if new symptoms appear (e.g. a decrease in visual acuity, eye irritation, persistent reddening of the eyes), a doctor must be consulted immediately.
Occasionally, short-lasting visual disturbances occur until the gel is evenly distributed on the surface of the eye. Even when used as intended, Viscotears SDU temporarily affects visual performance and thus the ability to react, the ability to drive and the ability to operate tools or machines!

Can Viscotears SDU be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
Based on previous experience, there is no known risk for the child when used as intended. However, systematic scientific investigations have never been carried out. As a precaution, you should avoid taking medicines during pregnancy and breastfeeding or ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice.
How do you use Viscotears SDU?
Adults:
The frequency of use depends on the need. Usually 1 drop is instilled into the conjunctival sac of the eye 3-4 times a day. Viscotears SDU can also be applied more frequently if required.
Separate a single dose from the strip, shake forward and twist off the tip to open. With your head tilted back, hold it as vertically as possible over your eye, and use your other hand to pull your lower eyelid down slightly. Let a drop fall into the conjunctival sac without touching the eye. If necessary, treat the second eye with the same single dose. Do not store unused residue as the solution is not preserved, but discard SDU after use.
Children and adolescents:
The use and safety of Viscotears in children and adolescents have not yet been tested.
If you need to use other eye medicines at the same time as Viscotears SDU, you should discuss this with your doctor. You should leave a gap of at least 5 minutes between the administration of each medicine and always put Viscotears SDU in last.
Stick to the dosage given in the package leaflet or as prescribed by your doctor. If you think the medicine is too weak or too strong, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.
