What are Tears Naturale, eye drops and when are they used?

Tears Naturale, Eye drops are used to moisten the eyes and treat mild eye irritation. Tears Naturale, eye drops contain a water-soluble polymer system (dextran 0.1%, hypromellose 0.3%). Properties of Tears Naturale, eye drops such as viscosity, refractive index and pH are in the range of natural human tears.

On the recommendation of the doctor or pharmacist, Tears Naturale, eye drops, can be used for "dry eyes" of various causes.

When should Tears Naturale, eye drops not be used?

If you know or suspect you are hypersensitive (allergic) to an ingredient or excipient of Tears Naturale, eye drops.

When should you be careful when using Tears Naturale, eye drops?

If the eye symptoms worsen or persist, ask your doctor, pharmacist or druggist, Consult a pharmacist or druggist.

If the symptoms worsen or new symptoms appear (e.g. reduced visual acuity, headaches, eye pain, tearing, persistent reddening of the eyes), you should see your doctor immediately.

If a second eye preparation is used at the same time, an application interval of at least 5 minutes should be observed between the two medications.

Note for contact lens wearers

Contact lens wearers should remove their lenses from their eyes before treatment with Tears Naturale eye drops and only put them back in 15 minutes later.

So far there is no evidence that the ability to drive and use machines is affected by the use of Tears Naturale, eye drops. However, as blurred vision may occur after using Tears Naturale, eye drops, do not drive or use machines until your vision is clear.

Tell your doctor, pharmacist or druggist if you

  • suffer from other illnesses,
  • have allergies or
  • take other medicines (including those you bought yourself!) or use them externally!

Can Tears Naturale, eye drops be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

If Tears Naturale, eye drops are used as directed, there are no risks for the unborn child or the infant known. As a precaution, however, you should consult your doctor, pharmacist or druggist before using the drops, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

How do you use Tears Naturale, eye drops?

Adults: In general, instill 1-2 drops into the affected eye several times a day as needed. After opening for the first time, remove the detached locking ring.

The use and safety of Tears Naturale, eye drops in children and adolescents has not been systematically tested.

Note on use:

  1. Tilt your head back.
  2. Put your fingers under your eyes and gently pull down your lower lid until you feel a « V» pocket between the eye and the lower lid.
  3. Apply 1-2 drops into the «V» pocket. Avoid touching the eye with the dropper tip of the bottle.

Follow the dosage given in the package leaflet or as prescribed by your doctor. If you think the medicine is too weak or too strong, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.

What side effects can Tears Naturale, eye drops have?

The following side effects can occur when using Tears Naturale, eye drops:

Very common (affects more than 1 user in 10)

blurred vision.

Common (affects 1 to 10 users in 100)

dry eyes, crusted eyelid margins, abnormal sensation in the eye, foreign body sensation, eye discomfort.

Uncommon (affects 1 to 10 users in 1000)

Eye itching, eye irritation, eye redness.

Post-marketing experience shows the following side effects:

Eye effects: Eyelid redness, eye pain, eye swelling, eye disorder discharge, eyelid crusting , increased lacrimation.

Effects on the body: Hypersensitivity.

If you experience headache, eye pain, changes in vision, tearing, persistent redness or inflammation of your eyes, or if your eye symptoms have not improved after 2-3 days, consult your doctor, pharmacist or druggist immediately druggist.

If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist. This also applies in particular to side effects that are not listed in this leaflet.

What else needs to be considered?

The medicinal product may only be used up to the date marked «EXP» on the container.

In order not to compromise the sterility of the eye drops, do not touch the dropper tip of the bottle with your hands or eyes. Close the bottle tightly immediately after use.

Use by after opening

Do not use the contents longer than 1 month after opening the bottle.

Storage Instructions

Store in the closed original packaging, at room temperature (15-25°C) and out of the reach of children.

Do not use this preparation if the safety seal is broken or missing. Do not use if the solution is cloudy or any color changes are observed.

Excipients

Polyquaternium-1, borax (disodium tetraborate decahydrate), sodium chloride, potassium chloride, sodium hydroxide and/or hydrochloric acid (for pH adjustment) and purified water.
