When should Lubexyl not be used?

Lubexyl should not be used if there is intolerance to the active ingredient benzoyl peroxide or one of the excipients.

When is caution required when using Lubexyl?

The preparation must not come into contact with the eyes, eyelids, lips or mucous membranes. In the event of accidental contact, the affected area should be flushed with plenty of water. Caution should be exercised when used in the corners of the mouth and nose.

Benzoyl peroxide should be used with caution in patients with a history of allergic skin conditions (e.g. atopic eczema), particularly if the skin is dry and has reduced sebum production.

We advise against the simultaneous use of skin-irritating or drying agents (e.g. other acne preparations, preparations containing alcohol, strongly drying soaps and cosmetics) and intensive UV light radiation (sunbathing, solarium), as this can lead to increased skin irritation.

Inform your doctor, pharmacist or druggist if you suffer from other illnesses, have allergies or are taking other medicines (even those you bought yourself!) or using them externally.

Can Lubexyl be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

As a precautionary measure, you should avoid taking medicines during pregnancy and breastfeeding if possible. If you are pregnant, want to become pregnant or are breastfeeding, you should only use Lubexyl after consulting your doctor.

How do you use Lubexyl?

Adults and adolescents over 12 years

The skin washing emulsion is used like liquid soap. The skin is slightly moistened with lukewarm water, then a few splashes of Lubexyl are applied to the appropriate skin areas with clean hands, distributed well and rinsed off thoroughly with water after 1-2 minutes.

Unless otherwise prescribed, the preparation is used twice a day. However, the frequency of application and the exposure time can be adjusted by the doctor to suit individual skin sensitivity and the severity of the acne.

Children under the age of 12

Clinical data on efficacy and safety in this age group are not available.

Follow the dosage given in the package leaflet or as prescribed by your doctor. If you think the medicine is too weak or too strong, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.

What side effects can Lubexyl have?

The following side effects can occur when using Lubexyl:

The onset of the effect of Lubexyl can be accompanied by a feeling of tightness and slight reddening of the skin in the first few days, which is not unusual. The slight burning sensation that initially occurs with sensitive skin usually disappears over the course of the treatment. If excessive redness and burning persist for more than 5 days, the drug should be discontinued and the doctor's advice sought. When the symptoms of irritation have subsided, the treatment can often be continued with less frequent application or with a shorter exposure time. In rare cases, allergic reactions can occur.

If you notice side effects that are not described here, you should inform your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.

What else needs to be considered?

When applying and rinsing off Lubexyl, make sure to avoid contact with the eyes and mucous membranes (lips, mouth and nasal cavities). is. In case of accidental contact, flush with plenty of water.

Because of its bleaching effect, Lubexyl should not get on the hair (eyebrows, beard, hairline) and should not come into contact with colored textiles, as it can bleach or discolour them.
