What is Sulfarlem S25 and when is it used?

Sulfarlem S25 eliminates or prevents dry mouth, which can be caused by, among other things, drug or radiological treatments.

Sulfarlem S25 makes it easier to continue these treatments and avoids dry mouth problems that often occur with long-term therapies.

Sulfarlem S25 is mainly used for salivary insufficiency caused by some medications or observed during radiological therapy, in certain diseases or in elderly patients.

Sulfarlem S25 can also be used to treat reduced tear fluid.

When should Sulfarlem S25 not be used?

Sulfarlem S25 must not be used if the bile ducts are blocked or if there is severe liver dysfunction.

When should you be careful when taking/using Sulfarlem S25?

Patients who are hypersensitive to azo dyes, acetylsalicylic acid and rheumatism and painkillers (prostaglandin inhibitors) should not use Sulfarlem S25.

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you suffer from other illnesses, have allergies or are taking other medicines (including those you bought yourself!) or use externally!

Can Sulfarlem S25 be taken/used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?

In principle, medicines should be taken with the greatest caution during pregnancy and while breastfeeding and only on the advice of a doctor.

How do you use Sulfarlem S25?

According to your doctor's instructions.

Generally 3 dragees daily (1 before each meal).

Treatment can be carried out both continuously and with a break of 5 days per month.

The optimal therapeutic effect occurs gradually after a few days.

The use and safety of Sulfarlem S25 dragées in children and adolescents has not yet been tested and should not be taken by them.

Stick to the dosage stated in the package leaflet or prescribed by your doctor. If you think the medicine is too weak or too strong, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

What side effects can Sulfarlem S25 have?

The following side effects may occur when taking Sulfarlem S25:

Can trigger hypersensitivity reactions of the skin and respiratory organs, especially in patients with asthma, hives (chronic urticaria) or with hypersensitivity to acetylsalicylic acid and other rheumatism and painkillers.

Isolated mild cases, mainly gastrointestinal, often mild diarrhea, which disappear with a temporary adjustment of the dosage.

Urine discoloration is normal and should not worry you.

If you notice side effects that are not described here, you should inform your doctor or pharmacist.
