What is Leucene Zugsalbe and when is it used?
Leucen Zugsalbe heals and disinfects small wounds and boils. Leucen Zugsalbe works by activating the blood circulation while simultaneously softening the top layer of skin. Leucene Zugsalbe can also be used to treat boils and small abscesses only if prescribed by a doctor.
What should be considered?
Large, heavily soiled and deep wounds as well as bite and puncture wounds require medical treatment (danger of tetanus).
If local deterioration occurs or if healing does not take place, a doctor, pharmacist or druggist should be consulted. If the general condition deteriorates (e.g. fever) or if the wound suddenly swells, a doctor must be consulted immediately. If the boil is larger than about 0.5 cm in diameter (comparable to the size of a pea) or if it is on the face, a doctor should be consulted. In the case of diabetes (diabetes mellitus), the preparation may only be used under medical supervision.
When should Leucene Zugsalbe not be used?
Do not use if you are known to be hypersensitive to any component of Leucene Zugsalbe. Do not use on varicose veins. Do not use on open wounds or broken skin. Leucene traction ointment must not be used on infants.
When is caution required when using Leucene Zugsalbe?
Leucen Zugsalbe is only intended for external use on the skin. Don't ingest.
Avoid contact with eyes or mucous membranes. Do not use near eyes. Do not use on large areas.
No other external medicines should be applied to the skin areas treated with Leucene Zugsalbe at the same time.
Tell your doctor, pharmacist or druggist if you
- suffer from other diseases,
- have allergies or
- take other medicines (including those you bought yourself!) or use them externally!
Can Leucene Zugsalbe be used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?
Systematic scientific studies have never been carried out. Leucene Zugsalbe should not be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding unless prescribed by your doctor.
How do you use Leucene Zugsalbe?
Adults and young people from the age of 12:
If prescribed by a doctor Unless otherwise prescribed, apply Leucene Zugsalbe to gauze folded 3-4 times and place on the inflamed areas. Cover with some cotton and secure with adhesive tape or gauze bandage.
It is important to continue the application for several days and to change the dressing every 12 hours.
The use and safety of Leucen Zugsalbe in children under the age of 12 has not yet been tested.
Stick to the dosage given in the package leaflet or as prescribed by your doctor. If you think the medicine is too weak or too strong, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.
What side effects can Leucene Zugsalbe have?
The following side effects can occur when using Leucene Zugsalbe:
In rare cases, local skin reactions can occur, which manifest themselves as itching, burning or reddening of the skin. In this case, the application should be discontinued and a doctor consulted if necessary.
If taken orally or over a long period of time by mistake, the camphor it contains can cause minor side effects such as nausea, vomiting or abdominal pain. In rare cases, however, serious side effects such as seizures, headaches, dizziness, confusion, restlessness, anxiety, hallucinations or severe shortness of breath can occur. In these cases, a doctor should be consulted immediately.
In rare cases, especially in the case of sensitive skin or long-term use, sensitization to balsam of Peru may occur, making it necessary to discontinue the preparation.
If you notice any side effects that are not described here, you should inform your doctor, pharmacist or druggist.

The medicinal product may only be used up to the date marked «EXP» on the container.
Keep out of the reach of children.
Store at room temperature (15-25°C).

What does Leucen Zugsalbe contain?
1 g of ointment contains:
Laureth-9 30 mg, benzalkonium chloride 3 mg, balsam of Peru 16.7 mg, basic bismuth gallate 6.25 mg, zinc oxide 25 mg, cod liver oil 280 mg, spruce resin 23.3 mg, dextrocamphor 1.65 mg, acetic acid Alumina solution 25 mg, ammonium bituminosulfonate 41.6 mg, lanolin, lanolin alcohols and other additives.
